I wish my experience mirrored other reviewers! I wanted to take my lover out for a romantic meal of spaghetti and meatballs. The tables were crammed so close together we couldn’t even hear each other talking. The spaghetti took over an hour to be made and it was almost $40 for a small plate with two meatballs! When my boyfriend asked for more parmesan, the waiter argued that spaghetti and meatballs doesn’t need it. Was he practicing penny pinching? A bottle of peligrino water was $12 (costs $2 in the grocery store). The wine was good though. Hence the two stars. What a disappointment. I’ll go to Annex next time…

I love this place. Louie hand makes everything- the pasta, the gnocchi, the sausage...done with love and you can tell. Everything on the menu is great, but I always have either the Cioppino or the Arabiata pasta. (I need to eat there more often so I can try more things!). The clientele are the hippest boomers in town. The wines are hand-picked to be delicious and a great value. For sure my favorite italian restaurant in town, probably my favorite restaurant period.

I have driven by this place more times than I can count. Finally stopped and had dinner last night and let me tell you I was sorry I had not been eating here before. When you walk in the smell of garlic and something beautiful just envelopes you. The ambiance is subtle yet amazing. I had a tomato bisque (fn amazing) and my bf a ceaser salad both of which were filling on their own. For the main course I had a pan seared salmon (I never order fish) and he had the classic cioppino. Overall I was highly impressed and no need to say it but I will 100 percent be back.

Great ambiance! Staff friendly and attentive. This is probably the only upscale restaurant in the Tower District, and one of the few without a rowdy "sports bar" element, which was a relief! Food was a a little salty, but otherwise delicious. The chianti recommended was wonderful, even though I had fish, it still was tasty! I had the grilled salmon special--very fresh and the vegetables and pasta sides were a lovely complement. My husband had the chicken pesto, which was good, but could have used more garlic. Bread was offered when we sat down and with the meal. Place is very popular, so make sure to make reservations in advance, as we almost didn't get a table on a Friday night.

Excellent Italian food! Probably the best I have ever had! A lot of dishes are homemade and they are amazing! Definitely the chicken marsala was excellent! Also the homemade tiramisu and spumoni icecream was to die for! Customer service was awesome, we will definitely be back!

The food is very good and the servings are plentiful. The atmosphere was very pleasant the dining area is pretty with all the decorative lights sparkling. The outdoor dining patio looked very inviting, spring time will be excellent for the out door dining on the patio. The service was excellent and i would definitly come back or recommend this restaurant to others.

I recommend that everybody go there, order what sounds good along with a nice bottle of chianti. You will not be disappointed.

I came for the cioppino and my Lord it was delicious! Outstanding service, beautiful restaurant, friendly staff, with owner doing the hosting. Authentic Italiano cuisine. It goes well with an Italian beer, I loved it! Highly recommend. Plus a full bar?

Had a seafood plate this time, and it was excellent! Pan Seared Salmon is to Die For... Excellent service from Christine!

This place has great food and customer service. The prices are quite high which makes this place perfect for special occasions.
