The chicken on my chicken Marsala was very dry and tough.
Always nice!
Another very good meal at Max's last night. The shrimp appetizer was wonderful. I had the pork chop with a cherry based sauce that I really liked, but I thought that the chop was somewhat over cooked and dry. I like pork done to medium, but I would say that this one was well done. I wasn't asked how I would like the meat as I would have had I ordered a steak. Both my wife and I thought that the main courses could have used a little more salt. The raspberry sorbet was a very generous serving with fresh fruit (strawberries and blackberries) on top. I would have expected some fresh raspberries.
The chopped wedge salad was delicious, large portion. Both entree's were great. Fish special & prawn entree. Service great as usual.
So there were 4 of us. I just had the Greek meatball appetizer, which was delicious. One person got the chicken marsala, another the meatloaf, and the final person got a New York steak - everyone really enjoyed their meals. We also had a wide variety of cocktails and wines. We go to Max's frequently and it is by far my favorite Fresno restaurant.
I was extremely skeptical about a 5 star rating but man it is accurate! Some minor food issue (risotto was a little watery) but the rest of the experience was exquisite. The house drinks are fantastic and a must try. Service was on it, we just wish there was a little more space on the tables. We will absolutely be back for another round!
Maxâs does not disappoint! We celebrated our 24th anniversary with dinner and everything we chose was cooked to perfection. And the table hostess was courteous and helpful. Their halibut and risotto was amazing!
Itâs was great food and good portions.
They are always spot on the food was Great and the Service was Right on.
I am new to the central valley, but Max's Bistro is a top notch restaurant.
