My order was made late and numbers after me were called...Downtown meter cost money and i had to put more money in. Chicken batter is mediocre. Fish was excellent and so was the tartar sauce. Mac n cheese was very buttery and creamy. No utensils to eat with so i used the lid as a spoon.
This is a small venue but the staff is great at taking care of you try them they have some decent entries and I think you'll be surprised at their quality
If the rest of the food is as good as the fries and customer service, this is the place to eat. The cashier, I didn't get her name, had a smile that made you feel happy just talking to her. You can tell she likes, maybe even loves, her job and takes pride in what she does. The service was fast and the food was fresh and delicious. I wasn't expecting much from this place. I originally wanted to eat at Take 3 a few doors down, but it is permanently closed. I look forward to trying other options there. It's time for business to push aside this mask mandates and shutdowns, and get back to work. The place was full of customers in the late afternoon past the lunch rush, so you know others feel the same way.
Coming from Hispanic heritage, I'm very picky when it comes to my herbs and spices. Hands down !!! They got the best chicken ? and jambalaya rice. Customer service was welcoming as well.
We drove from the other side of town right after school, paid for parking to have the doors locked while ppl were inside just looking at us. No sign saying closed.... I wont go back.

I just left the Chicken King I arrived @ 3pm they were not busy at all. The guy that came to the counter was soooo rude. He was rude enough that I left without ordering a thing. You would think that with the pandemic affecting so many businesses they would be more welcoming to their customers. Especially being a southern food restaurant....you know southern hospitality...southern comfort you guys catch my drift. I would have spent an easy $60 feeding my family. Too bad I'll have to stay without knowing if the chicken really is king.Fyi they no longer serve chicken and waffles :(
Food is really good, absolutely no complaints about it. HOWEVER, this is my second time ordering to go, and not realizing that some of my food ordered and payed for was missing. Yes, they mentioned they’ll give you your food IF you come back that day, which is so inconvenient, or they’ll get you the next time. My only issue with a “next time” item ordered previously is that explaining situations about previous orders most of the time, people look at you funny like you’re just begging for lack of better word. DETAIL is very important. Don’t forget peoples food because you sure don’t forget to Charge them/take their money. missing food that you wanted with your order/meal just messes up the entire experience.
