I love coming here once a month and getting ABSOLUTELY super blitzed on sake while chowing down on chicken on sticks

Good amount of food. Good quality. Excellent for a night out with a big group of friends. Highly recommend beef tongue and chicken gizzards!

We got there at 5:30 on a Thursday evening and were seated right away. The place was clean. The service was very good. Skewers were good. I debated if I should give this restaurant a 5 star or 4. 4 stars because the Sukiyaki is far from authentic. A bit pricey but overall a very good experience. By 6 PM this place was packed.

Awesome food and great service! ASK for Jay! He knows his stuff. Never been to a Yakitori spot. Jay walked us through his it all works.

Very good yakitori place in the Bay. And this is one of the few places open very late even on weekdays. The place is a bit pricy but the over food quality is great. Tsukune, chicken livers and beef tongue are also not bad. The hot pot is delicious but they do put too many cabbage....Price: $50 per person without drink.

Came here for the ambiance and small eats. Skewers could use some work being crispier.

Didn’t have a good experience there. After we entered and sat down, started to order. We were told all the sukiyaki were sold out. It was only 5pm Saturday. Shouldn’t you inform the customer at first. Then we said we’d leave. They told us one flavor was available. We decided to give a try. The broth was very plain except some salt. We kept asking staff was it already seasoned , they seems didn’t get our question. There weren’t communicate with us efficiently at all. The taste of skewer were good, though it was a little pricy.

I've been here 7+ times, since they opened pre-lockdown back in February 2020 and after they finally re-opened last year. The food is quality and it hits hard. There's just not that many options for yakitori in the Bay that's under $100 and done properly. I'm just glad there's finally somewhere that offers tsukune and motsunabe and leaves you full and content at around the $40 price mark. This is the only spot in the East Bay where you'll be able to get cuts like chicken oyster, abalone, dried smoked fish, and a grilled onigiri in one spot.I usually start off lighter cut like breast, followed by an onigiri, and then back onto the meat with something fatty like their duck or galbi. Tsukune is a great mid-meal skewer, but don't shy away from their offal like chicken heart or neck meat. Best way to end it is on their grilled sweet potato. Most of the time, warm, mildly sweet with a bitter crisp skin cleanse the palate. Though I have gotten it once at slightly under room temperature; the sweet potato was still edible and cooked through, but it seems the center didn't cook as the potato was too big.Side note, this place gets really busy on the weekends, especially after 7PM. If you pop in to get on the waitlist and you see large tables filled up and an entourage of Initial D/Forza enthusiasts' cars outside, you might be better off hitting up another spot. My estimated wait time was 45 min, but it ended up actually being 80 minutes.

They use traditional Japanese Yakitori techniques to cook the meat. You can see the cook shaking the bamboo fan to control the meat temperature instead of using electrical fan. Everything is delicious. My Asian waitress is very passionate about her work and provides five-star services.

Skewers are ok and tasty but the soup is not, more than half of the pot is full of cabbage. Maybe they put the whole cabbage on it. Not worth it for almost $60
