They don’t have charcoal but they didn’t tell until the order was already made and sent to us. We ask about it then they said so and we can’t grill ourselves. Instead, they cooked the food their own and it was terrible. The food was overcooked, cold and tasted like rubber. What even worse was that we order 4 scallop while one of the scallops basically as small a red bean.At the very first the restaurant was filled with smoke. It got better after we finished. All in all, the whole experience just like a combination of disasters. The only thing positive is that their waiter is kind and they offer 90% discount. We had been here 6 month before and it was fantastic. I hope they get back to the quality it was before.
Some things here just don't make sense. The entire operation runs on an iPad menu ordering system on the wall. It would have been nice to see everything laid out in front of you as well, but we were not offered a physical menu. The staff are less than attentive. The coals for the grill took approx 15 mins to arrive after we had sat down, well after we had already ordered skewers. When you order soju, you have to request shot glasses separately and ours never arrived, even though sometimes their d livery time was sub 60 seconds (like rice). They didn't have the raw scallops available this night but no one informed us until we asked about them later. The food is really good though :) the lamb skewers are delectable and the White Gummy cocktail is my new favorite (I've had 3). Their house sauce is what my ambrosia would taste like. It has aromatic sesame oil and a rich peanutty flavor. My other pet peeve is their DJ/music choice. Bro. You're not gonna make it. The music sways from Brittany to the Chainsmokers to Travis Porter. We were deeply unfortunate to have the seats directly in front of the dj booth. The throbbing nasty club music clashes with the bougie choices of butter wagyu.
Very nice Chinese skewers bbq place. Service is nice as well. A little bit pricey though.
The charcoal grill is fun and the service was great! The grill automatically turns the skewers over so you can cook evenly. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because the food is pretty much covered in cumin and my wife and I are not fans of cumin. The specialty beef (like the wagyu) probably doesn't have cumin, but it was too much for us. So if you like cumin, then this will be a great place to bbq and eat.
Love the meat deal. Oysters and scallops are so good. The stick is not that great, only 1 flavor. Beside that, everything is good. Like the AMF that the girl bartender made.
skewers was good, northern Chinese style. the beef skewer was really delicious! I love it which just like the taste in China.not recommend wagyu, i think it is overpriced and not the right place to have such dishes.the music was too loud just like a club. i don't enjoy this much. it's impossible to talk even your friend is sitting beside you?
I checked in on Friday night, live music singer and DJ for the night. It was for dual-birthday celebration. Staffs are friendly. However, the entire of restaurant is very busy and focus to celebrating the lady boss birthday in the same night. The birthday note we passed to the staff is totally ignored and all focus on the owner’s event. We enjoyed their great food, tower-size tapped beer, and enjoyed the live music of the night with our cake carried in and out while we were leaving.
We went during December on a Sunday for lunch. We were nervous based on the large number of critical reviews mentioning obnoxiously loud music.Fortunately for us, the place was fairly quiet and whilst there was music, it was Christmas-themed and at an acceptable volume that still allowed us to talk easily across the table. I don't know if that was due to the holiday season, the lunchtime time slot or the owners heeding all the other reviews asking them to lower the volume. The food is surprisingly good, although because you are the judge of when to take it off the grill, that can negatively affect your enjoyment of it, but that isn't their fault. Much of the meat is very well seasoned and marinated so is quite tasty without any sauce required. The hosts were helpful and fairly quick without being overbearing.Overall, maybe give this place a chance - you may be very pleasantly surprised like we were. And remember to leave a review if your experience with the music is that it is still too loud so we can figure out together whether they have actually addressed the issue.
