The hostess was very unprofessional and rude. 2 of my friends walked in while I looked for parking cause it’s packed outside. The hostess asked them if they’ve been here before and they said no. Then she asked them “are you aware of the pricing here?” as if they can’t afford it. The hostess name was Serena/Sirena. She did not apologize nor did she do or say anything to make the situation better. Other than that the service was really great. The waitress was really sweet. The ambiance was nice. The soup was creative in the presentation. The dessert was also really good. Overall there were definitely dishes that stood out and were really good. Most of the dishes were okay. We found bones in our nigiri which was definitely not good. Would not recommend this restaurant as of now but would give it another try.
It is decorated with a modern and simple interior design. The food is fresh and delicious, and it is a course dish that you can enjoy while enjoying the food by decorating it beautifully. Dessert was delicious and not too sweet
Didn't take a picture of every course, but loved every bite I took. A great dining experience for a special event like a birthday, valentines, or anniversary. Sake pairing was excellent, and next time I would pay extra to try the nigiri upgrade. If you can afford the dinner, it's worth a try. Probably not an every-week event, but definitely great for special occasions. Service was excellent.
Far and away the best high end restaurant in Fremont. The fish was exceptional, the presentation was atmospheric, the staff subtle and exceptional. The sushi here will prevent you from enjoying sushi elsewhere; nothing in the area belongs in the same category. And the soup...The only things I would change are the caviar, which was average at best, and consider giving the table a printed menu of what was served for the standard tasting menu.I will be back.
Very refined modern takes on Japanese food. The food is first class, service is great, and love the sake! Considering the incredible quality of the food, the price is very reasonable. If all you want is your typical California Rolls ect, this is not the place. You get a wonderful Omakase menu here. Definitely recommend Soho for those looking for great, and non-typical Japanese food.
I didn't think Fremont has Omasake and when I heard about SOHO I was skeptical. But I was so wrong. This place is legit, serves authentic Japanese food. The sake pairing was amazing as well. Definitely a treat for Japanese cuisine lovers.
Pretty psyched to see a high end restaurant opening in Fremont. Overall quality is solid, fish dishes are fresh and taste great, portion is generous, the entire course composition made sense. There are a couple things to improve if th owner wants to put this biz on the map.1. Coat check, it's winter and there should be coat check at a high end restaurant.2. More training with the staff - the waitress we had sort of mumbled through the menu (which is okay, I can read off from the menu). Table should be cleaned more often between dishes.3. Chawanmushi was burning hot when it just came out, when I mixed the ikura on top with the egg, the ikura was cooked slightly.4. Surf and turf was actually pretty bad; it was a hot dish served on a cold plate, the steak lost its temperature soon after it's been served. The steak itself was chewy and tasteless. The decorative sliced potato was bland and don't see the point why it's there. The scallop was great and so is the puree.I would say it's a 3/5 star experience but I do see potential in this restaurant so I am giving a 4 star, hopefully it will be better the next time we are back!
Great service, good atmosphere, and delicious food & drinks. The only (slight) disappointment was the nigiri as it was cold and not impressive considering the price point, but it was not bad. Overall, portions were generous and the other items were cooked perfectly.
Decent omakase. We upgraded the 5 pieces nigiri and it was very delicious. Nice service. A little bit overpriced. We spent $500 for two people.
Very nice food with beautiful presentation and hospitality service. The interior design and seating can be improved to provide warmth and relaxation.
