Met my family here for lunch and we had a great experience. None of us live in the surrounding neighborhoods but we all dined at all Sala Thai locations in the past.To order, scan the QR code on the table and pay. Which is odd because you submit your payment and tip before table service.Anyway, the service was quick and the wait staff were all friendly and very helpful. We ordered pad thai, angel wings, pork ribs, fried fish and mango with sticky rice. Everyone really enjoyed their choices. The food was steaming hot and fresh. The fish was fried perfectly. Crunchy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The ribs were so tender. The pad thai was awesome. The noodles were stir fried flawlessly and had plenty of veggies.Hopefully we'll be able to return soon!
Every time I crave for Thai food or fried banana ice cream I find nearest Sala Thai! Did not have a disappointing day yet.I have tried fried rice, crispy fried fish and Pad Thai. They do have pretty good flavor. But I feel the quantity is less for the price. They used to only do take out during Covid restrictions but they are open for dine-in. The restaurant can get crowded, so if you are looking for a quieter dining this might be the best. But the food is definitely tasty here.
Sala Thai has been my absolute favorite Thai restaurant in Fremont for many years. As with most things, nothing lasts forever. Since they moved to their new location, prices continue to go up, but food quality is declining. It feels like it's not the same person or team doing the cooking. My family usually gets Green Curry, Duck Curry in a spicy red sauce, fried fish, Pad Thai noodles, white and brown rice. My favorite, the Duck curry, was very disappointing, the duck meat was tough and seemed over cooked, no flavor and no skin, maybe it wasn't even duck. Not sure what the difference was but the Pad Thai noodles didn't taste right either. Fish was good, at least I enjoyed that. My wife and daughter eat the Green Curry, they did not enjoy it as in the past, said the taste was off. Service is still good, they prepared everything quickly and efficiently, so no long wait. Hopefully they can fix the kitchen and get their old groove back, going to wait a few months and maybe try again, not sure though, wife found another Thai place close by, probably going try that one.
Food quality is unquestionable. It is great and the fried dishes are just so amazing. What's negative about this place is that even though it seems like a nice restaurant, it gets easily loud in there. So if you are expecting to have a nice and quiet meal at this restaurant, you won't be getting that. But that means the food quality is amazing and a lot of people are visiting here! So if you don't care about the noise level, please do come. This is a great place for Thai food especially the fried dishes!
Food was on the lower end of mediocre. Quantities were small and they screwed up the spice level (Fried rice was medium (should have been spicy) while the Drunken noodles were super spicy (supposed to be medium). Paid $3 for non existent veggies on the fried rice. Out of 4 items not one was memorable in a positive way. Will not visit again.
This place felt a little pricey for the portion sizes. The spice level is also inconsistent. I had Thai hot the first time I ordered and it was mild, at best. The second time was definitely better and actually spicy. I think I will shop around more for a regular Thai place.
One of the best Thai restaurants in the area! Food is always top quality and delicious. The fried fish with sweet garlic sauce is my go to! The sauce itself is worth 5 stars
I like their green Thai curry and pad Thai noodles. My husband loves their coconut chicken dish. Absolutely delicious.their mango sticky rice is good, but it could be better!
Zero customer service. Very small food serving size. After eating end up drive thru in & out burger place. Complete rip-off, mango chicken was very poorly cooked. If you are looking for nice time out with family then this is definitely not the place to go.
You order your food through a url,pay the tip in advance and then the food is served in flimsy paper plates and plastic bowls. I understand that the pandemic has made it hard to hire workers but if you are charging $20+ for a single dish, maybe you should pay better wages and provide better customer service.
