Small cafe that is military themed. There are many memorabilia all around the walls and tables. I loved it! My in laws took me here for breakfast and service and food was wonderful! I ordered their Perdu with bacon and sausages. Their sausages were very delicious. The French toast was amazing. Never had an empty glass. We were checked in on often. My in laws have been going here for some time and the servers immediately recognized them. Definitely a great place where they pay attention to you! Will come back and recommend!
Had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was great and the customer service was welcoming. We went on a busy morning, but got seated right away.
Lots of food! Service was phenomenal. The military memorabilia was tasteful and gave a wonderful vibe.
Great little hole in the wall, you really have to stop and try this place.. perfect spot to support thus weekend and forever... food was amazing!
The food here is amazing, but you gotta know about the atmosphere before you go in. It's very "military glory days" and my girlfriend and I were getting strange looks from the other patrons the entire time. It felt very unwelcoming. We're probably not going again.
Have been coming here for breakfast off and on for a few years, and it never disappoints. Their regular menu items are fantastic, with generous portions. They also add different specials to the whiteboard in front that are great too.
The food is very good and the service always comes with a smile. And of course you have to love the military decor.
First, Paul's is the epitome of the down home diner ... terrific food, reasonable prices, friendly, attentive staff who always aim to please. Second, Paul's has the special feature of highlighting the military veteran experience, with decor that memorializes events and experiences especially meaningful to veterans, or to those who appreciate the service of vets. They've even gone so far as to take the classic SOS preparation in sectionally divided steel tray, and put it on the menu. Finally, for anyone who is a fan of chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken, especially those from Texas who are confident that Texas has the best chicken fried steak in the country (and yes, I've been to Mary's and yes it is very good), Paul's chicken fried steak will keep you up at night tossing and turning and wondering if you just had chicken fried steak in Southern California that's even better than what you had in Texas ... and that comes from some Texas friends, it's not just a California opinion. When they bring this order to your table and you see the size your eyes will pop and have big it is. It's three times the size of your usual serving. And if you haven't tried chicken fried chicken for breakfast before, that's also on the menu and just as good. Paul's has a long list of loyal patrons. Give it a try and you may find yourself joining that group.
A small cafe catering to military veterans - especially Marines. The area around the kitchen & cashier's station looks like a ship's bulkhead and the place is filled with Marine & Navy memorabilia. The feature menu item is SOS served on a stainless steel mess tray. The SOS is tasty but not nearly as meat-heavy as USMC SOS, which is a meat-filled hamburger gravy. This retired Marine was disappointed with the limited amount of meat in the SOS. :(The place is open every day, for breakfast & lunch.
Bomb breakfast! ! ! The chicken fried steak covers the whole plate. I have never seen such a huge chicken fried steak. And the corned beef and hash is so flavorful.
