Have ordered takeout and delivery from fulsome Palos Verdes many years. I found the food to be acceptable not necessarily very good. They have been about the only Chinese restaurant nearby. The few times I have dined in was disappointed by the slow service and the quality of food for the cost. The same is true for the delivery. But it really came to ahead when we had several guests coming over and ordered over $100 worth of food and after waiting 4 1/2 hours, having received multiple excuses including a lie about a car accident for the delivery person, we finally just ordered pizza. Got hold of the owner the next day to complain and see if she could do anything to make good on this fiasco. She was incredibly rude, un-apologetic and finally hung up on me. I found a great place for take out in El Dorado Hills, Asian Bistro, not Folsom Palace Asian Bistro, exceptional food and a great owner. Been there long before Folsom Palace and much less costly.
We dined in around 3pm on a Thursday. They were empty and quick to get a table. The food was good but service was minimal. They gave my 2 year old a cup meant for adults filled to the brim with lemon ice water. Asked for a small cup with way less water and no lemon. Was given a to go soup Styrofoam bowl filled to the top with water. Still was way to full and then flimsy for my toddler. They were constantly on their cell phone and I had to go find them to get any help. This was for the water, a box to go, and then also the check. We were the only customers in the restaurant and had zero customer service. If you want good service order to go, because they were quick to get those customers taken care of.
They have good food. You don't have to put salt or soy sauce on anything because it already has good flavor. The restroom is very clean but the only thing is flies. There was only one but one is enough to drive you crazy
Menu items range at $20/person and up. Decor is nice. Food and service are par. A little pricey for my lunch taste.
The Chow Mein wasn't bad. I ordered Orange Beef and they gave me chicken. It wasn't that good. The sauce was sweet but it was bland. To much around the chicken. Cream cheese wonton had no flavor. We weren't happy
My friend and I decided to try this place due to 5 stars reviews. We were pretty disappointed. No lunch menu and the prices were outrageous.I guess these people that gave 5 stars, never had really good Chinese food.Only thing that was positive was the young man who was very friendly.
I would come here alot with my wife and by myself. Always getting the wonton soup. For some reason my price for wonton soup would jump from 17.00 to 20.00. So lately I started asking for prices. I'd get no vegetable add extra wonton and the guy tells me .75 each additional wonton. I say ok. Then today I call order the same thing and now the guy tells me the wonton are 1.50 each. I told him I always get charged .75 for wonton. He's starts getting an attitude as if im lieing and tells me I don't know who would tell you that. I told him you just lost my business and he his response sorry about that. Ok I'm sure you are. My advise to mgmt is properly train your employees so everyone knows the correct information. I hate when I buy something over and over and the prices continue to go up and down.
Very disappointed in a takeout order today. Specifically asked for no hot spice on green bean order and it came with so much spice it was unbeatable. I know owners Jenny and Bill would not be happy. The Folsom crew must not careMy telephone complaint was meant with indifference
I generally love folsom palace. But of late their dishes are too salty!!!! The calamari sure will spike up my blood pressure and the rest of the dishes left bad state in my mouth. Ive been ordering it recently as I thought it was a one off but sadly no such luck...all three times it was salty.. twice for take away and once dining in.. Common guys, you can do better. Did the chef change?
