Hard to go places on a mobility device...but Joe's plenty big enough for my scooter...and staff was eager to help if needed....I ordered the French dip and he sliced the meat when I did...so very fresh...biggest sandwich I ever seen...and the sauce was so good...I will never go anywhere else for my sandwich...no complaints about anything I ordered...all was all very good and tasty...place very friendly and clean...and busy...keep up the good work and thank you for lunch
Joe’s Sandwich Shop - another main street gem! Staff are friendly, the meat for your sandwich is freshly sliced as you wait and you get a nice amount of meat. My husband and I got the Turkey sandwich on a Dutch crunch roll, some delish potatoes that were nicely seasoned, and the Greek salad. The bread, veggies and meat were fresh, the service was wonderful and the deli was clean. I look forward to returning to try some other sandwiches and sides.
Excellent experience yet again! Brought a new customer with me, she fell in love also! Great family business, clean, friendly with a wonderful atmosphere. The roast beef sandwich is my personal favorite, as always the sandwiches were thick with meat, fresh ingredients and immediately after leaving we must take a nap! Most satisfying meal! The sides are homemade and crazy delicious, my favorite is the potato salad!
Excellent sandwiches! A wait if you come at 12pm. Extra big serving sizes and the sides are very tasty. Seating is plentiful and the staff is very efficient and friendly. Bathroom are clean. We will definitely be a regular customer at this establishment!

I ordered Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Mac&Cheese and a Vegetarian sandwich on a Dutch Crunch Roll. Everything was great. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly.
Last time I ate at Joe’s was when I was stationed at an Fairfield Mall Office as an Army Recruiter ‘01-‘06. And…there is no place here in San Antonio to mirror Joe’s sandwiches. So…we military veterans that have been there would like for a Joe’s Cafe to open up one down here. Pick a spot, near Lackland AFB, Fort Sam, or near my area, booming businesses of Alamo Ranch
Absolutely delicious. Got the roast beef sandwich and they slice the roast beef fresh off of the roast for you and it's so juicy and tender and then they have the Au jus to dip it in. Very polite and helpful workers and huge portion sizes just delicious
Love this place. Been eating here since 1980!! Same great food & service. The roast beef is piled on so thick! YUM! And the sides are all good!
This was by far one of the best sandwiches I've had! Definitely worth the 5 stars, just bummed they were out of 2 of my favorite breads (Dutch crunch roll and sourdough). The sole purpose of me going was to get a good sandwich on a Dutch crunch roll, but went with the turkey and cheddar on a French roll and it was as good as I pictured it in my head! The dip for the sandwich was better than I expected mainly because I've never had it before ?. The amount of meat they give is enough to make the sandwiches on a subway or Togo's commercial hide in shame because we all know them sandwiches look nothing like the commercials! I will definitely be back soon.... I want that Dutch crunch roll ?. I think I'll call first, but I'm still going to be returning very soon!?. Last but not least, the employee's were beyond polite, pleasant and amazing, thank you ladies and Mr Joe himself ?
