Like many people here, I stumbled across El Pitayo while passing through. Now I ask myself if it was Luck or Misfortune which graced me, for my Favorite Restaurant is ninety minutes from my home.The food is incredible and the tortillas, thick and freshly griddled, are superb. But what really brings each meal to the next level is the combination of ingredients which, to me, are unexpected.Each time I get tacos. A gooey base of melted shredded Cheddar compliments perfectly crispy Asada. Chopped lettuce and tomato enhance the impression of an American taco undiminished by an Anglo American palette.Today’s meal included a chipotle salsa with a hint of Chamoy (or something similar), which is another combo completely new to me. I’m full but I hunger to return.Lastly, the setting is gorgeous.That being said, I’d eat these tacos even if they were offered to me by a stranger on Bart.“I got El Pitayo, but I’m full,” I imagine her saying. Without hesitation I reach for the extra tacos, two chicharron with everything. Three bites in and golden chipotle juice is covering my face. I glance up to meet her approving nod as she hands me a napkin.
Great little hole in the wall type place. Family-owned and operated. They’re slightly understaffed because of Joe Biden policies, but it’s like that everywhere. Don’t let that stop you. Worth the wait.

The burritos and the salsa was better then a lot of places however it took 25 min to get 2 burritos Togo wouldn't mind so much if they had beer

The food was so good, I found this location by luck, I called and ordered my food ahead of time , because I was traveling, when I arrive the food was warm, not only that, THE TORTILLAS were hand made, OMG they were so good, the dope as well, oh man, I’m definitely stopping by on my way back home
SOME OF THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I'VE HAD IN MY LIFE! They make the tortillas fresh for burritos and tacos. Beans are like silk without using lard. Rice, perfectly seasoned. My new go to spot!
