Very nice ambiance in old town Eureka. I had the special which was halibut in panko crust in a coconut curry sauce. The fish was small and a tad dry but overall flavors were very good. My son had fish and chips which was a big portion of food, chips were very good and fish looked good also. My wife had the scampi fettuccine which was very good. Lots of shrimp and very light given it was in a creamy sauce. Didn’t rate this place 5 stars as the server was a little slow and inattentive and the halibut was over priced given size and dryness. Would go back however again and try other dishes.

We went in for dinner after a lovely day driving and hiking in the Redwood National Park and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. My wife had the scallops, with clam chowder, a baked potato and veggies. Very good and tasty. I had the Red Snapper Picata with polenta cakes and veggies with a side salad. Very good and tasty. Service by Samuel was outstanding and friendly and attentive. Roz pared her dinner with a Pinot Noir and I had a Chardonnay.

We weren’t able to get through on the phone to make a reservation but we took a chance and drove to the restaurant anyway. It was very busy but they were able to accommodate us. It is a beautiful room the tables are set with fine linens, silver and china. I liked the light fixtures and the lighting was subdued but it was not so dim that there was a problem reading the menus. The tables are nicely spaced apart so it is easy to have a conversation with your table companions. The entrees come with soup or salad. My husband opted for the salad as he does not like clam chowder. He tasted my chowder however and he said it was very good. For entrees I had the special of the day – petrale sole stuffed with Dungeness crab and shrimp meat. It was delicious. My husband had shrimp scampi. I had shrimp scampi at a restaurant the previous evening and my husband’s scampi was far superior. The portions are very generous. For dessert we shared the key lime pie. Prices are fair for the quality and generous portions served. Katie was our server and she took very good care of us. It was a wonderful meal and a great way to spend the evening in Eugene.

The swordfish special was well grilled with great char flavor and my wife's petrale sole and polenta cake was excellent as well. Zucchini is my least favorite side vegetable however, the uninspired salad was liquid nitrogen cold and the pace felt rushed. The ambiance had changed from last visit, perhaps for CV-19 compliance? They were very nice to bring us a sundae for desert as cheer to our anniversary. I will visit again post pandemic, as this restaurant has a venerable traditional.

Such fantastic seafood. I had the ling cod special and my husband had petrale sole stuffed with Dungeness and shrimp special. Split the coconut prawns appetizer. Nice that dinners include soup/salad which is rare these days. Generous portions. Drinks were strong. Dimly lit which I like. Waiter was very attentive. Gorgeous old school carved (probably redwood) bar.

5 stars experience:Great environment and atmosphere!!! Exceptional service!!! All of staff is super friendly and nice!!! Very attentive to any customers’ needs!!!Nice and fast service to serve you bread and appetizers (e.g., soup or salad)! Very reasonable wait time to be served with freshly cooked delicious food!!!Highly recommend this restaurant!!! Would love to come back!!!

It is an old interesting place with a funny decor, maybe because I was expecting something with fancier look but ended being like my aunt’s home.Little dark, we went there for my husband’s birthday celebration, and I missed some more lights. We loved the food though, it was great! Main course always comes with salad or chowder. We tried clam chowder with mushrooms, it was creamy and very tasty. The pan fried oysters for entry were little bit different than I was imagining but also good. My favorite for tonight was the lobster pasta, also the special of the day, it was amazing, very good sauce.

I cannot put into words how phenomenal the food was.My, wife had the lobster Alfredo with the house clam chowder. Honestly, can't think of a time I have had a better Alfredo, the Alfredo sauce was to die for!!! The portion was perfect... My wife couldn't't finish it so I got to eat the rest. IMain course for me was the lobster and stake both were absolutely scrumptious! I honestly couldn't rave enough about the food here... A must try if you're in the area. The restaurant was a little too dim for my liking, this was with the added lights from their Christmas decoration lights. Rest, of the decor was a bit dated and didn't fit with how sensational their food is.

The halibut was delicious. My fiance got the prime rib and asked for medium well done and it was very very pink. A bit underdone to his liking (we did tell our server so the next person who orders the same thing doesn't get the same results as he did.) other than that the service was great and so were the servers, a beautiful dinner experience.

I wouldn't say this is an every night sort of place given the prices, but it would definitely be a place I'd come back to for a special occassion if I was in town. We were very satisfied with our food and service. The only slight negative was our table was RIGHT next to the bathroom and kitchen. So maybe ask for a table away from that area if given the option.
