The live and onions dish was so good it was sinful. The salad had pickled beets which I love (nice surprise) The vegetable soup was very tasty. The coconut cream pie was wonderful. We took home a strawberry cream cheese cinnamon roll for tomorrow's breakfast. They looked decadent.
Unfamiliar with the area, and on a tight budget, we decided to check out The Village Pantry for breakfast. We were promptly and warmly greeted by the owner, and seated immediately. Our food and drinks were delivered quickly, and exactly as ordered. The food was plentiful and delicious, the restaurant was clean and nicely decorated, and the conversation with our host was fun and entertaining, yet did not interfere with our dining experience. We’re glad we stopped in, and look forward to another meal there the next time we pass through Eureka. Thank you!
We had breakfast at dinner time and there was no disappointment. My wife is particular about how her bacon is cooked (in my mind she likes it when it crumbles to dust) and they fixed it to perfection. Her pancakes seemed to weigh a pound each. My meat lovers omelet was superb but outdone by the country potatoes, the onion and peppers tasted like a dream. And the homemade biscuit was the best I've had outside of "The South." We were stuffed, but a local suggested we take a cinnamon roll back to our BnB for our morning coffee. We got the strawberry cream cheese version.

Recommended!Chicken fried steak was hot and crispy, gravy was tasty.Homestyle fries and eggs cooked perfectly and hot when served. Great customer service.I mistakenly thought it was in McKinleyville and went up and down the town at least five times before I realized it was in eureka. Yes it was that good.Will return my next time in town.

Nice quality breakfast spot in Eureka. Came there via recommendation from a local at the gas station. Split a breakfast special with my sweetie. Good food decent price. They had nice looking pie and crazy flavored cinnamon rolls in the front case but we didn't try those. Maybe next time.
