We ate at Chapala Cafe twice. Service was wonderful, the food was fresh and tasty, and the Margaritas just might be the best we have ever tasted. Camarones a la Diabla were fiery and excellent. Chips and salsa as an appetizer were crisp & tasted made in house. We enjoyed our meals there as much as any restaurant in town, if not more, and paid less.
We have recently switched to this place for our Mexican place of choice in eureka since Ritas closed. The service is usually always excellent although there is one female waitress we got that wasn't nearly as good as the guys that we normally have. The margaritas are amazing, the chips and salsa are good. The flavor of the food is mediocre I'd say but we mainly come back for good service, margaritas and chips and salsa
I have been in the area for over a year, this is the first Mexican restaurant I would return to. I had the enchiladas Jarochas great flavor and spice. Cannot wait to go back to try other menu items...
When we walked in for a late lunch there was only one other table taken in this rather large place. This automatically makes you wonder about the quality of the place. However, we were really surprised with not only the quality of the food but the service. There was only one waitress on duty and she was very attentive without being hovering. We ordered the Tostado salad as well as guacamole dip. We split both and they were exceptionally good as were the homemade chips. The salad was crispy and very favorable. We come from SoCal and have high expectations for Mexican food - and this fit the bill. BTW, by the time we left there were numerous diners.
Everything was delicious. From the margaritas to the veggie fajitas. I also had the Jalapeño poppers. I will be back again. The only disappointment was no chips and queso. Just regular cheese

We went here today for the first time in years and it is definitely not what I remember. Food was disappointing not worth it at all but we kept that to ourselves and stayed respectful. We cleaned our table off and went to the front to pay. They decided to charge $5 over on my card and wasn't the price the bill said, not including what I was going to write down for the tip and they didn't change it once they knew what they did. It's just a few dollars but it was the purpose of it to me. So basically just watch your receipts because they manually type the price.
Food is always delicious and service is top notch
