Brought some out of town friends here to enjoy the bay scenery from the outdoor deck seating which was available (it’s June) but was still too chill to enjoy. Very understanding server as we chitchatted when we should have been ordering lol. Wanted fish and chips but they had no cod so got the Red Snapper, which was different but good. The fries were cold and not crispy at all-the coleslaw was delish. Everyone seemed to love their meal anyway! All in all, quaint surroundings, decent food and excellent service at a reasonable price. Pretty darn good.
The worst meal I’ve ever been served. The restaurant sits on the bay so I incorrectly assumed they served fresh fish. I was wrong. The entire meal was old and/or reheated, including the fries. The chowder was slimy. Huge disappointment and quite expensive. Staff was friendly but should be embarrassed to serve such poor quality food.
Good local spot that came up when I searched Google for “steak”.Good portion size, flavorful. Food was served quick by gracious staff. Local beers on the menu… another plus.Had the steak dinner with prawns/shrimp. All was cooked right for my pallet, nothing was overdone or dry. Too many places don’t understand what a “medium rare” steak is supposed to be.. they got it right here.Will be back.
Stopped on way to Fort Bragg. Had the fish & chips. Were ordinary F&C. Was disappointed. I think any restaurant on the coast should at least have good to great Fish & Chips!!! The atmosphere was cool & they did have outdoor seating!! Also sits in the middle of the slue!! Has a cool boat dock we went walking out on to see the fishing boats!!!! Cool place! Food could be better please! Maybe caught them on a bad day?? Worth a try!!??
Got seated and had to ask another server 15 min later if she could take our order. Two waitresses kept coming out but never ours. She finally came out 25 min after we got seated and asked if we were waiting for one more person. Two of us were seated with a third place setting because mom had to use the restroom and sat down 3 minutes after us. Our server just forgot and tried to act like we were still waiting for someone. Two out of the three food orders arrived cold. No flavor in the spicy Snapper, green beans or chowder. We felt bad to say anything so we just said everything was good when asked. I did mention it while paying because we were asked again how it was. I paused, then decided to say something because I’ve never paid that much for a dinner that was cold and bland. I made a point of saying the one order was hot so the others must’ve sat there waiting. It was passed off like oh yeah well hopefully your food is warm next time. We won’t have a next time. Had another server not stepped in, we would’ve sat there 30 minutes waiting to order. Then the replacement server was nice but the food cold. It’s also weird to order something spicy yet it had no flavor. The only thing good was my company and the view. Super disappointed because this is our first time to Eureka and the food and service we had last night in Old Town was phenomenal. Hot food needs to be served hot and if something is taking longer, you bring what’s ready out to the customers. You don’t let it sit there and get cold then bring it out when the last thing is finally ready. This is the first time I e order seafood that had no taste and cold.
Food was good and we had great service. It was a nice, relaxing meal and my son enjoyed watching the boats. We were told it was the off season and the wait during the summer could be an hour. Glad we got yo enjoy a quieter visit. We also stopped to visit the statue and Table Bluff Light for quick photo ops on the Island before we had dinner. Great views all around.
Food and Staff were great. I highly recommend going here.
My partner and I came to Eureka from So Cali and loved this spot. It was quiet and had a fantastic sunset view! Star provided is great service and we definitely recommend. Oh yeah... and the steak was so good and juicy.
We were here on Sunday morning for brunch. We got the outdoor seating with a view of the docks. My friend had an omelette and I had hash browns and a salad. For a vegetarian, it was perfect. A very nice family friendly place. It seemed like everyone knew each other, probably they get locals more often than tourists like me.
Was looking forward to the food since it was recommended by so many. Clam chowder had only one clam. Not exaggerating. Fish and chips had an overwhelming taste of cinnamon. Cinnamon on fish and chips??? Service was great... food was not.
