Wanted to give this place a try so I went in and sat down at a table, wasn’t greeted by anyone, the cook and other worker behind the counter looked at me but didn’t say anything. 20 minutes later another worker comes in and tells me I can’t dine in, I can only order to go.(which wasn’t posted anywhere) I’m not sure why the other 2 people weren’t able to tell me that as soon as I walked instead of staring at me for 20+ minutes
We ate here for the first time last night. We weren’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by what we ordered. The sautéed veggies is NOT what you would think, it’s more of a stew that paired deliciously with rice and peas. I got it with the fried chicken and thought I’d be getting something “simple” but instead it was perfectly cooked , very moist and was uniquely seasoned. My husband got the curry chicken rice bowl and ate nearly the whole thing (he’s not a huge eater). We have had curry chicken many times before but the flavors of this one was different. Both plates were very flavorful, as well as their award winning grilled oysters that we had for appetizer.Meals were large portions that we took home to have for lunch today. And for non-alcoholic drinks- I had the hibiscus and my husband the guava. They were both very good, though I added more water to mine (I like my drinks not too sweet and watered down but that’s a personal preference). Both of our servers were very friendly and prompt, but one in particular who was very descriptive with other dishes on the menu-where the oysters and fish came from, how they’re cooked, portions (to share or individual). Sadly we did not catch her name but she is the reason we now want to keep coming back to try everything they have at least once. She even drew characters on our to-go box!We love to eat out and try different foods, but if you’re thinking of going somewhere for lunch or dinner and are wanting something hearty with lots of flavor, this is the place to visit. Oh, & don’t forget their plantains. You think you know what you’re getting until you take your first bite!
When you burn the rice or anything, I feel bad about wasting food, but you can’t sell it. You can eat it yourself, give it out for free. But don’t sell people burned food for the regular price. I had the beef curry with rice and it smelled and tasted burned. I couldn’t eat it.
Closes the first time we went by even though listing on google says it was open. Called and called and called the second time but nobody ever picked up. Finally drove by and and saw open sign. Only one in the place and missed lunch menu by 30 minutes wouldn’t make roti. Their loss, I’d have bought 10. Ordered sampler plate a meat pie and chicken meat pie and bust up shut. Told it would take 30 minutes. Came back 30 minutes later and waited another 5. Took the food to go. And got 3 wings (pretty good) two fried plantains pieces and two tiny rubbery fritters for about $13! Bust up shut was nearly inedible as it was a solid rubber mass of flour and cheese. With a side of bland bread for $14. Pies were filled with something like bean dip not beef or chicken but were better than the rest of the meal but must have cost $8 a piece as I think we spent nearly $60 on this dinner with tip. I felt robbed.
Delicious healthy flavorful home-cooked Jamaican food in a casual atmosphere for a reasonable price. Yum! Will return when next in Eureka.
Taste of Bim is the BEST restaurant in Eureka, perhaps Humboldt county all together. The dishes are made to order with plenty of options. If you’re in Eureka, it would be a shame for you to miss out on this amazing dining experience. Friendly staff, great food, amazing place.
I started off with trading for myself but i noticed the huge difference in profits earned while i worked with an expert. With $500 I earned $6,000 in 7 days of trade. lilian wilson is the only one i can easily recommend. Email:
Well that was a let down to say the least. I don't like to be rude but it was like a 5 year old was being nice and made a meal for mom and dad. The vegetable chow mein was spaghetti with a poor tasting tomato sauce with broccoli and tomato chucks. The flat bread was a tortilla, literally a tortilla, flat bread is not supposed to be a tortilla! The vegetable rice was so crunchy and poor tasting that it was uneatable. The soggy French fries were ok I guess. I really hate wasting food and I hate wasting money even more. I looks like both are wasted today.
Food is OK. Chicken was very dry although the wings were good. We also had goat curry and that was better but still average. Sense that food is not as fresh since they are probably not very busy.Service is very friendly.
Really nice and cozy atmosphere. The cod fritters, Caribbean lemonade, and fish and chips are so good! Definitely my favorite place to get veggies and sea food. Very kind staff as well. Will be back!
