Barbecue here isn’t too bad. I ordered a tri-tip sandwich to go with potato salad as the side. Everything tasted pretty good. I wasn’t blown away but if you’re looking for a barbecue spot that’s not gonna cost you an arm and a leg Mike’s has you covered. Friendly staff several huge TVs inside good for anyone would like to have some barbecue in and watch a game.
Great variety on food and beverage selection. Really good atmosphere and energetic friendly staff. Sara was very attentive as a host and Nikhol was super as our waitress. I could not make up my mind, not being too hungry I had a slider with each 4 legged meat. Suggest for those palates with a spicy yearning, all for the el diablo sauce. Minus one star for the anesthetic ambience in the "waiting" lobby and a few of the big screens not working. Other BBQ establishments I've visited had warm disposable towelettes to clean hands (Texas native here) - that would just be an extra suggestion. All in all, would look forward to another visit in the near future!
I ordered their number 1, which is baby back ribs, 1/4 chicken with bbq beans and coleslaw, the chicken was very good, fall off the bone good, the ribs were the same, fall off the bone good, they both had good flavor and tender even the slaw and beans were done very well. The only thing I can nitch them on is I wish they didn’t blob on the sauce on the chicken and ribs, I would have preferred to have the sauce on the side, and if anyone goes there ask for Breann P. she was dynamite, very friendly and courteous, That girl must have wheels on her feet, because she handled her station with ease, from what I saw. Not once did my drink get empty nor anyone else’s. I would highly recommend this place, for the food and the atmosphere, and if the rest of the staff is like Breann, you will come into a winner
Good Deal ~ Monday Special 2 for $20 sandwiches (tri-tip good, French fries so-so, pulled chicken so-so). We ordered 3-items total, and the kitchen prepared one of them wrong. By the time the food was remade (a simple bread switch) my meal was 3/4 done (had I waited my meal would have been cold, so spouse said “don’t wait”.
This place has the best smoked food that I've ever had. The food and service here does not disappoint. Fast friendly local business with food that is not to be missed. The brisket plate is my favorite and the garlic bread is awesome. You can order ahead via toast, or dine in. There is more here than I can mention. Do yourself a favor at check them out whenever you are in the mood for smoked meat. You will not be disappointed.
Brisket sandwich was delicious. The brisket had great flavor and almost melted in your mouth. Fries were good also, great ranch dressing with a good hint of garlic. Also had a Full Greek Salad, seemed a bit overpriced for what it was. Also smaller than expected.
Be aware when you get ribs! Was served two rib ends, with short bones on both "racks". Each rack had the last, smallest bone with no meat on them. Asked the owner why he served ribs with no meat and told that's how they come out. Asked if I could get two ribs with meat on them and the owner repeated his claim, and in an obstinate tone of voice asked if I want my money back. I got my money back and there's a reason why 50% of the reviews are average or below, and that is the owner has no sense of the old business saying "The Customer Is Always Right". So, Mike has lost a customer for life, and you should be aware of what you might be served in his establishment ... wouldn't want you to have to leave hungry!!!
We've been here before but it's been a REALLY long time so I was excited to head back. The staff was amazing. We got to watch the finale moments of the chiefs/bangles game. I was a little disappointed in the food. I had a pulled pork sandwich but there was very little sauce and the pork was kind of all one big piece which was fine except my little butter knife wasn't cutting it. Lol.
I'm not a fan of their sauces, especially the sweet sauce which tasted lime marinara. The brisket was a little try and the quarter chicken was small. Good potato salad, Mac & cheese, mom's brand and burgers. I would honestly just get a burger medium done it has great smoke flavor. Better than the traditional BBQ meats.
I had never bought food at this place (Mike's BBQ-Escondido) and yesterday I did. I ordered the Honey BBQ wings, onion rings, a Caesar salad and Cole slaw. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I bite into it all when I took it to a relatives house to eat. SOOO darn good. The onion rings are huge & yummy, the wings were absolutely delicious!!! The Cole slaw is really good as well. Everything was excellent!! It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and I give this place 5 stars plus. And the staff was friends, especially Violet, who I spoke with for several minutes. So sweet and genuine. MIKE, you need to open a branch in Oceanside, please!!!
