I got the enchiladas combo and it was amazing! My fiancé got the steak tacos and he loved them. You order the food and sit down and they bring it out to you. They gave us some chips with our meal. I would definitely come here again.
We were very disappointed with this place. :( We were deceived by the 1000+ good reviews. Started with overcooked stale chips. We love chips and salsa and our whole group of 7 wouldn’t eat them. All the food was very mediocre. The guac is soupy, tasted ok. Supreme quesadilla was so wet my son couldn’t even eat it. Chicken flautas were ok, but got soggy very quickly because of the wet guacamole and sour cream. Rice and beans were bland. Carne asada burrito was dripping grease. The corn tortillas on the tacos didn’t taste fresh and the corn tortillas they served with the Chile relleno were wet and mushy because they were sitting in a plastic bag. Chile rellenos egg batter had so much flour in it it made it thick and chewy. We will not be coming back. Our hunt for good Mexican food continues.
Lourdes is known for their caldo but this review will focus on their California burrito.The California burrito at Lourdes is filled with carne asada, French fries, salsa, guacamole, Mexican crema and cheese. It’s perfect. Do not expect an overwhelmingly large burrito, but it’s honestly, the right amount of food. The meat is tender, the layering well done so as to avoid tortilla breakage, and the tortilla has a good flavor that compliments everything that is inside. This is a simple, no frills burrito that sticks to the tried and true OG Cali style. But it does it in a way that it’s a true standout. Elsewhere, the shops seem to have forgotten the basics like guacamole, or the crema. Lourdes says no. Give the people what they want.
best soup in town but you all know that, the california burrito top notch, not dry [some other shops are just so dry]its nice to that you can have a beer and a taco inside.
I'm sorry....this place use to be Amazing!! WOW!!! Now they are way over priced and their food is no longer good. What happened??? Never again. 4 tiny tacos for $30 plus . Unbelievable!! I would rather have Jack in the Box 2 for 99 cent tacos.
Girl at counter was very rude. She confused are order for the second time in a row. We had to prompt her for everything that she left out. Food was ok, but cold. We will not be returning.
A very small restaurant in Escondido but it has some of the best Mexican food I've ever eaten and it is very well priced. I enjoy eating there and having their take out. You should definitely try it out.
The chicken soup here alone is just top tier. I've gotten a few other things that were good, but the soup.....it's one of the best around. The only other place I know of that has chicken soup that can compare is a place in Rancho Penasquitos across from the 24hr fitness, but thats too far from me now.I go here atleast 2x a month minimum.
The soup was amazing. I added a squeeze of lime for perfection.
