Best pizza in Escondido. The staff is very friendly and great customer service ?.

Order: Large The Works PizzaPrice: $28 with taxThe actual dough was on par with what you would get from a frozen pizza or 7-11 pizza. Super dense, hard, no flavor. The toppings were alright. I was trying to decide if the mushrooms were from a can or just a little slimmy.Pizza sauce was like a normal canned sauce with more sugar added. The cheese situation, there was like 3 pounds of cheese on the pizza, it was the only thing that made it edible. But all the cheese goes on top of the sauce and toppings. So nothing actually sticks to the crust, making it impossible to eat.Overall if this was called something other than a Pizza I think it would be okay. Definitely not a good Pizza at all, especially at a price tag of 30 bucks. To sum it up they could lower the price to $10 and I still wouldn't go back, if that says anything....

We love Filippi's Escondido. Their lasagna is one of my favorites. I usually get it in the Family combo (lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti). My fiancée always gets the rigatoni with meat sauce and melted mozzarella. Another review said there was TOO MUCH CHEESE. No such universe exists. Filippi's portions are very generous and allow for leftovers for me and multiple leftovers for her. If we get an order for take-out, it is a large Fit For A King pizza...always. Again, leftovers. Any review you see here that does not give 4-5 stars...ignore. Those people have something seriously wrong with their taste in italian food.

Our party had about 8 people and I couldn’t believe how great the service was, especially at lunchtime. We ordered a huge antipasto salad and two large pizzas. Both were incredibly good. And even though the pizza has quite a bit of cheese, it doesn’t overwhelm you. It was truly a great pizza and would definitely be back. Thanks

Please take a look at the conditions of their bathroom and that should tell you what their kitchen is like. I visited this place because of a birthday celebration, which turned out to be a horrible experience. The person celebrating her birthday selected this restaurant because of all of the good reviews and her love for homemade tasting Italian food. It was a sad turn of events when she took a bite of her veal parmigiana and it was tough. Overall, the food quality was so average that I thought, I could cook it myself and do a better job. The dessert was the only exception. Their Spoponi, which the restaurant orders from an Italian company is really good.

The pizza was amazing. Atmosphere was great. It is a quaint small restaurant. It was close to closing so only negative was the smell of bleach from them cleaning. Although good to see a thorough clean.

One of the best pizzas I've ever had, I recommend

This pizza was amazing! So much cheese and toppings. The outer crust is thicker then in PA so I just concentrated on the rest. My friend got lasagna and meatballs. Enough for three meals. The biggest meatball I've ever seen. The break was two whole sub rolls. One plain and one with sauce and garlic. The homemade Italian is different and delicious. So happy the staff at the resort recommended! Yay!

First time at this location. Once I got inside I could have been in PB where I've been dozens of times. You either love this kind of pie or hate it. A huge pool of mozzarella and crunchy yet doughy crust. Pitchers of root beer too.

First time here since moving to Escondido. Have been to plenty of other "branches" of Filippi's throughout San Diego though. We are really impressed. Food was EXCELLENT (as expected, but still... ) and service was outstanding (Diana... she's been there 25 years!). She was the first server at a restaurant to actually listen to me when I say I only want 1/2 the amount of sauce they'd usually serve... and the first one at any Filippi's to suggest a certain italian dressing should go with their hot sub. My husband loved it. All in all a great experience and we are happy to find this "go-to" place near our new community.
