It was very crowded this Sunday morning, but once inside, I could surely see why! The staff is the friendliest, most hard-working I've ever encountered in my 77 years! Definitely highly recommend!
I would go back there over and over if I lived closer. Things that I liked the most about Charlie's is the people. The breakfast food was really good. Homemade salsa and fast service were also really nice. Again, the friendly service along with home-style menu items makes Charlie's an overall great choice.
Family is rightly it's name. Great place, great service, great food. Well worth the drive for a fun experience. Keep up the good work.
Thought I would eat lunch while waiting for a friend having procedure at PARKWAY. Big mistake, should have left after ordering drink . Asked where restrooms where...OMG! It was so nasty and unclean! The restaurant is old and musty smelling. I ordered Open faced Roast beef with mashed and gravy. No seasoning, mashed tasted like instant and to make it worse was given the end/heel of bread loaf ,which cold roast beef was piled on top. Guess they figured I wouldn't notice. I paid 20.00 bucks for drink and meal I couldn't eat,at a booth looking at tape holding up a portion of booth seat across from me...Avoid at all cost!!!! How can they be operating, HEALTH DEPARTMENT PLEASE!!!
Great food, excellent service, up-beat pleasant environment and prices that are very good.Expect to take half of your meal home. Especially if you get a slice of one of their fabulous pies foe desert.This is a family owned and operated restaurant. Their pride and years of personal investment are obvious.
Their food does taste good buy only when you get what you order. I've ordered items to go over the phone a few times and they've gotten my order half way wrong almost every time. Check your food before you leave.
While waiting for wife who was in surgery I had some time for lunch and this place was right next door. Excellent service, very reasonable prices, and a tasty Patty Melt took care of my appetite. I've had better Patty Melt's, but this was prepared just the way I wanted it, and all in all it was very good. Would return here again without hesitation.
When you're talking about old fashioned traditional, home style food Charlie's is probably one of the last of the last in the area. I know the owner has been running for many many years and many of the ones working there have been there a long time. It's probably my very favorite place to go when I want something very traditional meat and potatoes, etc... Their prices are pretty much at the level of everyone elses but even so say for about 15 to $20 a person you can have a really good quality old fashioned dinner with all the extras that come with it. Whatever they do they do it extremely well. Very highly recommended!

Charlie's is a great family restaurant. They have everything that you would expect on the menu and decent prices. When I visit Charlies, I usually see someone I know from my neighborhood (Valley Center) eating there as well. It's a nice, comfortable place to eat with friendly servers and help.
