I love the food and service in this restaurant. We go there a lot. However, the mosquitos are out of control there. I am allergic to mosquito bites, and even though I was wearing mosquito repellent on my legs, I managed to get a nasty bite on my arms. Please do something. Either the restaurant owners or the city need to provide mosquito control as this restaurant is next to water.
From start to end the service was amazing. We were greeted with friendly faces and our server was so patient and accommodating (particularly in helping us find menu items for my niece with allergies). We really enjoyed our experience at the Oaks and will certainly dine here again.
The Oaks at Lakeside has become my "go to" restaurant, however I may be taking a break. The food was excellent, as was the sevice. HOWEVER the mosquitos were horrible. We spent our entire lunch swatting away mosquitos from our bodies and our lunch. Also, I know the city takes care of the lake which was a terrible green and the ducks and geese stayed away because of the condition of the lake. Please let me know when you are back to normal so we can return. ALSO....$8.00 for parking in the Valley is really ridiculous. As a result I think most people pay their $8 and don't tip the Valet - NOT FAIR
We were pleasantly surprised to find such a charming location right off a busy street in the San Fernando Valley. The food was very good, wait staff attentive and professional. We were delighted with our experience and plan to return.
The Oaks at Lakeside is very good for small Bday Parties, good food and good service.
Great Resturant, relaxing because of the lake. They give you food to give ducks and geese. Great for kids.

I only rated this place 1 star due to their Host-Ethel (I think thats her name), who I felt was racist towards us since my friend and I are both Asian. We had a 4:15 reservation and when we check in with this host Ethel, it took her at least 7 minutes to figure out where to seat us when the whole restaurant was empty. There was literally a big group inside seated and this 2 caucasian ladies sitting on a big table by the veranda by the lake-where I was hoping to be seated. When this host led me and my friend to the outdoor sitting area where the floor was made of dirt and pigeons are all over, I asked the host if we can be seated inside by the veranda where theres fan, roof and cooler since it was sunny outside and the birds where flying around us. This lady host told us she is expecting a big party tonight and every table will be taken. My friend and I sat there under the sun in the heat sweating. I asked her if we can be seated to a bigger table thinking that we will be ordering a lot of food since we are foodies. She refused to move us to a table with a better shade and told us that the table is meant for 4 people. I looked around us and theres plenty of empty tables. We even told her that we will be eating fast since we had to go somewhere. I pointed to her the birds are everywhere. She said dont worry they will move as soon as you sit. my friend and I were dressed up and pigeons were flying behind us causing the dust and dirt to fly Finally, our waiter Sergio arrived and we told him that we were uncomfortable being seated out in patio, dirt and pigeons everywhere. So he spoke to the same lady host and she agreed to move us by the veranda on a smallest table that they have while there were plenty of tables around. We could barely fit the food we ordered on the the table! Waiter Sergio- 5 star for going above & beyond! Food was good but I can always find better Italian place with better host and customer service. Sorry I would not return to this place.

The eggs Benedict were the best Iâve ever had! Server was amazing! Express martini amazing and the scenery with the lake and ducks was just amazing! Love this place!
