I have to say I was pretty unimpressed, they had no bluefin tuna , no blue craw crab , their giant clam sashimi was very small. The Albacore and the draft beer were the only items that were ok .The special toro was expensive and full of fat strips and tasted old. I won’t be back , no way !!! Spent $140 plus tip . trying to find something yummy ????
Top notch sushi in an area that has plenty of Sushi Restaurants. I take the time to go to Lil Tokyo for my Sushi (worth the drive), but this small hidden spot is a perfect neighborhood locale and it's so tasty!
Absolutely my favorite Sushi place. Order a 999 roll. Its spicy but damn good!
Delicious sushi, place was packed, but service was good.
We are very local to this place.Very good sushi.. great roll ideas and tasted fresh. The appetizers are alittle hit and miss (really liked the rock shrimps) and the ramen didnt have alot of depth (good value though)If you go, go for sushi and enjoy.
I placed a $200 order and ordered I received all wrong items. The food was poorly packaged and the rolls were a disaster. I also was missing items and the description of rolls was nothing like what I received. I called the restaurant they said nothing they can do about it and to contact Uber eats who in return did nothing about it. I asked for 5 utensils and chopsticks and I received none. No wasabi, no ginger, no soy sauce. I was so embarrassed in front of my guests and we literally used our hands to eat since we ordered the food to a business. I will never ever use Uber eats again nor order from this horrible place another time. I also forgot to mention that it took an hour for the food to be delivered which made the sushi taste and look terrible.
Have long relationship with Cho Cho San. Both Encino and Tarzana. Tarzana is always great. This time grilled salmon in Encino was great, but my favorite mon special was not good at all. Also waiter did not pay attention to anything we asked for.
Overall the place make very good food. Some dishes are really amazing (The soups and some rolls) and some are OK. Prices are fair and overall I can recommend Cho Cho San Encino. Ice cream desert is a must.
Everything is overall great here. The servers are very nice, and the atmosphere is good too. The food is exceptional. The salmon roll is fresh and tastes great just on its own. Can’t believe I didn’t try it with wasabi, but I’m sure it’s even tastier. Miso soup is a great appetizer at any place for me, but the way they made it was exceptional. I liked the touch of seaweed, I don’t usually see it. I tried the katsu chicken ramen with miso broth and no spicy, and it was incredible. Some of the most delicious stuff I’ve had. Will definitely be coming back when it’s possible.
I have eaten here several times in the past last time the waitress was unpleasant and rude.Brought it to the attention of the person in charge.Every body from the chef on were pleasant.
