Excellent service! Amazing food by the best Chef Claudette Zepeda and beautiful views!
Absolutely amazing! The best experience with the best company and the most amazing food! Thank you Claudette for the wonderful evening!!
Had dinner and breakfast here while staying at the Alila. And it was alll sooo good. Not only is their staff amazing at their crafts, but the food here was amazing. Oh, and the views aren’t too bad either ? lolDefinitely worth stopping by if I’m the area!
I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars, but as time passed and going through the different courses of our dinner, it went a bit downhill.First, on a positive note: this restaurant is really chic with a beautiful view of the ocean and friendly staff. Appetizers and drinks were good enough to keep them at 5 stars. However, main dishes started to make this questionable. Scallops were great but the rest were so-so. While the dishes were well plated and colorful, synergy between the ingredients was missing! The deal breaker was the dessert!!! Again, well presented but man it was bad. It’s really hard to get a dessert this bad. The chocolate desert was bland and the tres leches was BAD (how could you?!).This restaurant definitely has potential but they need to rethink their menu with food that deserves the great ambience. Maybe next time will limit our visit to just drinks and appetizers ;)
Been wanting to visit and went for breakfast. Had the egg Benedict and the Banana French toast both were delicious. Coffee was very good & from a local favorite coffee shop we frequent often, Lofty. But this place is all about the view, SoCal lifestyle view at its best looking down on South Ponto beach. Which is the perfect stroll after eating at Vaga Restaurant.
The excellent service made up for the lack of flavor in the food. The staff is wonderful. I read other reviews that the food wasn't that good but I thought since it's such a nice hotel the food must be great, but it had 0 flavor. Barely even had salt. :-(Unfortunately the best thing we had was the juice from a different company they buy from. I'd recommend coming for drinks/and the stunning view but eating elsewhere.
Extremely relaxing and great atmosphere!
Food was delicious and was presented very elegantly. We happened to be outside the restaurant shortly before they opened while they were having a meeting with the entire staff. They focus on little details like walking a single spoon for dessert while placed on a plate. They packed our leftovers and brought a stand with a hook to hang the food. We received exceptional service from the following staff members: Jenna (VAGA manager), Jackson/Erin (waitstaff).
Exceptional food. Got the Vaga burger and was thoroughly surprised. Sat in the lounge and enjoyed the amazing service that Jake provided. Watched the sunset and left feeling content in what I spent my money on. Will definitely be returning!
Went there for lunch and I get it, you're paying for the incredible view BUT the food is less than desirable. This was our third time eating here and each time we were hoping that the view would match the food but each time we've left very disappointed. The barbeque chicken was over cooked and therefore dry. The barbeque sauce was ordinary and my wife suggested that they just purchase it from the grocery store. The seafood salad had three large shrimp on a ring of lettuce but it was tasteless. We requested rare for the hamburger but it came medium well. Two hamburgers, two beers, BBQ chicken breast and a salad with tip came close to $190.00. ok, I get it you're paying for the view but the menu needs to be improved.
