Following up on a tip from @danavoros, our next review is of Union Kitchen & Tap. Located literally on Highway 101 in Encinitas, the indoor/outdoor dining options are plentiful. The upbeat music suited the overall vibe really well and the BBQ Chicken Flatbread was really good. The overall vibe of the gaslamp strip is on point and this place fits right in. It’s the type of place where you can’t really go wrong and they didn’t go wrong. Low risk place.Average drinks and average meals. High rating for the overall vibe of the location and restaurant.

Have been to Union several times and has always been great! Visited for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food is always delicious! The corn bread is the best and is a MUST when visiting! There's always a great variety of drinks from beers to cocktails. The vibe is relaxed and comfortable and great for any size party. Friendly service, especially this last time.... Jennifer was super!

This has been one of my favorite places to visit since it opened years ago. The staff are great, whatever you order will be amazing. I specifically go there for their shrimp and grits. Hard to find good southern style seafood dishes along the West Coast but Union knows how to do it right!
When can I come back!!! The steak and the cocktails... all just cooked and created to perfection. Was out for a celebratory dinner, wait staff accommodated our seating request and was prompt, it was more of a leave you to enjoy your night kind of place and the sever kept us looked after without being overly chatty and intrusive... was the perfect night!!?? Tip: reserve a table.
Went in for dinner at 7:45 on Sunday evening, when they close at 9:00 PM. The told us kitchen closes at 8:00 and they acted like they really didn’t care if we dined or not!I emailed the restaurant group that owns this location the next day and never heard back.Tough to support a business that doesn’t care about the customer! It’s January 2022, if we’ve learned one thing about dining out during the pandemic, it’s go where people care and give you good service! If you care about that, I’d skip this restaurant!
Was there for a company event. The service was top notch! They were attentive and food and drinks were delish. They have the cutest out door sitting area! Great place for a night out with friends.
We went out to Union for their 10-year anniversary Great Gatsby themed party and had a great time! Everyone was dressed up, all areas were open and the drinks and food were great!Even when there isn't a theme party, it's a great place to head and have some unique drinks with a fun atmosphere.
