I really enjoy the wine here. It's probably one of the best spots locally. I would give it 4.5 if Google would let me.. I just wish their food menu was better.
GREAT DATE SPOT- we went last night and were sat quickly without a reso (it was busy though). The live music was great! There were no tasting flights that night (first time we had run into that)- but had several half glasses of great wine. We also ordered the mussels and shishito peppers. Both delicious. Our server was super friendly. Will be back!
This dining experience was BAD from the jump! First - virtually no parking. Street parking is rarely available, parking across the street is also sparse plus necessitates making your way across a very busy Pacific Coast Hwy. even if you walk to a distant crosswalk (as you should) -- say a prayer & be sure your affairs are in order. Positives: The restaurant is an attractive wine-cellar style & the wait staff are friendly, efficient & welcoming. Negatives are showstoppers,imo. Wines by the glass are very limited, 4 people in our party of 5 are wine lovers...each one sampled 2 different wines each. 2 folks were very unhappy with both of their selections & settled for water. The other 2 disliked their first glass & were "ok "with their 2nd. (1 white & 1 red drinker in each group). Overall, the wines were deemed not a reason for another visit Food was just ok. Don't expect authentic paellas .... more like a "mom's kitchen" version of basic (overcooked) rice with some veg & small amounts of overcooked fish & shellfish (heavy on the small mussels). Others loved the house salad, but tapas reviews continued along the "just ok" lines. The primary reason we would NEVER return was the ear-splitting LOUD, bad musical performance.. It as a solo performer; on first glance we thought " lovely! - background dinner music". You know, the usual soft entertaining music that enhances enjoyment of food & conversation. NOPE.... her amp was full-blown & her singing style was "shouting/bellowing/wailing" -- occasionally/rarely melodic, more often off -key. It was SO LOUD & offensive that the waitress had to literally get in our faces to hear our shouted orders. Our group of 5 good friends- 2 visiting from out-of-state-- initially tried screaming conversation but shortly have up. We requested, 3 times, that she turn the amp/volume down so we could have some relief. The first 2 times she lowered slightly but soon ramped back up. The 3rd time, nothing was done. Consequently, We rushed through our sub-par dinner to leave asap. 2 members of our party left before finishing because they couldn't stand it any longer. We all agreed that it was one of the top most HORRIBLE DINING EXPERIENCES IN OUR LIVES. Needless to say - we'd never go back nor recommend!! Seemed more like a locals hang-out. There are many good restaurants in !Encinitas & Carlsbad . IMO, avoid Solterra.
Delicious food/wine and great staff. The staff did an amazing job working together to make sure we had food and drinks in a timely manner. Will definitely come back next time we're in CA.
Wonderful atmosphere! Big selection of wines. The music group played very well. Healthy menu. The appetizers were super tasty, especially the mixed plate. Great service - everyone was very attentive, nice and courteous. The only negative is that it is a little pricey, ouch!
Very nice atmosphere for a little winery and excellent food. I don't know much about wine but the zinfandel we had was tasty. I split the ahi tuna and the vegan paella with my fiance and we enjoyed every bite. The server was also knowledgeable and always at the ready.
We had a great time it was beautiful and the waitress Jade was magnificent there at our every whim. I took a old friend of mine and he also had a great time the food was excellent and the chocolate flourless cake dessert was to die for

This place has excellent food and wine. Super cool staff. I’ve been before and we’ll be back again. Killer outdoor spot to eat also. I highly recommend it.
