The gluten free options are good. They are usually a rarity for coffee places. Blueberry muffin (gluten free) was nicely done.Saw a nice wall hanging that seems new.
Pannikin has ALL the neighborhood charm, along with great coffee, a wide selection of pastries, and a friendly, helpful staff. I came here as a kid in the 80’s and it hasn’t changed a bit — which I love. Best place in Encinitas to grab a caffeine fix, relax and people-watch.

I’ve been going to this location for years. It’s such a perfect place to grab a coffee and a pastry and hang out or chat with a friend. I have done great memories there while hanging out with some great friends.
Hands down best coffee. And the overall vibe of the building is so sick. Very old and classic. But mocha coffee very good and also had a variety of pastries a d muffins very good
Liked the food and coffee but...... horrible customer service! Like seriously horrible. I came hear to see if I was the only one and nop! I guess I'm not the only one that noticed their rude but mute selfs, and horrible awkward silence they give you when you asked them about the pastries. So if you don't mind rude customers service I guess..... but not me, no thanks don't don't need that with so many Rude people in the world already I don't need a rude person making my coffee.

Came over to try out Pannikin for 1st time on Sunday Jan 2022.The line was not too long we got 1small mocha and hot tea.We had scone and cinnamon roll for later.We ordered avocado toast and yogurt with fruit and granola.Young girl at front not in a real good mood .We did not even get a good morning or a thank you for ordering $42.00 in food. Asked for receipt didn't get from her.Good place to chill with our dog.Very expensive and counter girl was just not helpful.The bus guys very nice and helpful.Food was good tea average mocha good.
This is my favourite breakfast/brunch spot in Encinitas! The place has a lot of character and the service is super nice. Their cakes and tarts are superb and so are the breakfast burritos! Be prepared to queue for a bit because it is usually packed!
