As much as I love seafood, and I have been trying fish & chips, whoever and wherever offering it, I didn't care about this place's fish & chips since it was salty. Hopefully, you might have a better luck.
Delicious, crispy fish & chips!! Tasty cold slaw too!! A suggestion however is to offer the fish tacos A la carte!! I'm a light eater and they only offer a 3 taco plate. Don't understand why this isn't an option.
We've eaten here several times and the food is very consistent and really good. Overall, the food isn't amazing, necessarily. But, the quality is high, the selection will satisfy pretty much all people & moods, the ingredients & preparation choices are plentiful, and it fits the overall vibe of Encinitas and Leucadia perfectly. I will say that the ability to get your food how you want it is outstanding. As well, the oysters we've had here were absolutely some of the best we've ever hard anywhere, which is saying a lot. The local kombucha they serve is also absolutely fantastic and a highlight for me. Great place and an easy choice for dinner, whenever we're in town. One nit I need to pick is that with some of the fish dishes and sides, the price starts escalating really quickly.
Super empty on a Friday night. Old school vibes. Picnic table seating with covered patio and heat lamps. Tried a few items on the menu including grilled salmon plate, poke bowl and grilled salmon tacos. Food came out quickly and very friendly service. Enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and broccolini sides. Salmon and poke 4/5. Just lacking a bit of flavor and comparing portion sizes to other places. Playing 80s jams the entire time which was a refreshing change up.
Great fish spot on 101. The fish and chips are great because the fish is breaded and fried wonderfully and the fries are a nice golden brown but far from burnt. The homemade tarter sauce is very nice and goes well with both the fish and the fries. The fried fish tacos burst with flavor from the first bite through the last. The guacamole goes very well with the tacos.Parking can be rough.
Fresh oysters, yummy tacos shrimp & avocado.Very good the fried calamari cooked italian style. For seafood lovers.Hamburgers too.Great cold beers.Few steps from the Pacific Ocean. I ? Fish 101 ?
Great staff with huge portions of food. Parking is a bit tricky on the weekends.
Dined here two years ago, and returned based on a very good experience. This visit was quite different: The menu consisted of mahi, shrimp and salmon, period. We had fish tacos and were not impressed - very average.
I most enjoyed the outdoor seating, we shared a table with a lovely couple from Minnesota, you seat yourself and waitress brings over menu. The clam chowder was good, fresh, creamy and clammy lol. The fish & chips were okay. Service to table was not long, considering the crowd. You place your order at the counter and get a # for the table.
Excellent. Best price quality ratio I've seen in a while. Loved the Mahi tacos ?
