I usually LOVE this place but today warranted a review. 1. Online ordering was down and then when it was up it still was not working properly. 2. You cannot order over the phone, pay and pick up. 3. My order was 100% wrong, I understand that mistakes are made but..... and it looked like they just threw the food in the bowl, it looked horrid, very unappetizing. I cannot say that I will not be back but I may reconsider.
Out of all the several or more times I’ve been here, it has never been a negative experience. Food is always fresh always quick, flavorful, delicious and filling. It’s the place to go when you’re hungry, staff are friendly. 10/10 value. Don’t ever change, Cava!
The food is yummy. But this restaurant is filthy dirty. The tables are always dirty, floors filthy and I’m afraid to touch anything. Today while eating a bowl I watched a worker come out with 3 ice buckets on her cart to refill the ice machine. She climbed up on a restaurant table, lifted the ice machine lid and put in on the table. She proceeded to dump the 3 buckets of ice. What I noticed was her shoes were covered in schmega from the back and it was getting on the table. I checked her cart to see if she had a rag and cleaner. She did not. When she finished she took the ice machine lid and scooped the schmega up with the lid and dumped it on the floor. Then she put the ice machine lid back on with out wiping it off. There was schmega still on the table and now on the chairs. She walked away, Returned her cart in the back, came back out to fill her drink but never to clean the table off. Totally gross. I had to stop eating. I threw my food away in disgust. Unfortunately I cannot come back here to eat. It’s just too dirty. Basic restaurant cleanliness is not practiced here. ?
First time I had Cava was in East Coast and I really enjoyed. So I was very excited to find it on San Diego! Totally a Disappointment !! The food is good and the employees are friendly, but this place is filthy! Starting with the area where you serve drinks, utensils containers very dirty also, most of the tables were sticky. I was there for 20 minutes and no one clean a table so people come in seat on the same dirty tables all over again. This is Encinitas location
Food is good but service has plenty of room for improvement. There are about 10 people walking around behind the counter, some busy and some just looking busy, and only one girl serving customers. Not sure if there's anyone monitoring or guiding these employees.
UH, yum. Love the healthy raw freshness. Only issue is they run out of ingredients sometimes, AND they close themselves off from delivery apps often. The Skug sauce is really good. And yes that is a pickle on the dish in the picture. It was an accidental purchase.
Extremely poor, slow service and clearly mismanaged. They were out of many items and several staff had no idea what they were doing. We had to wait over 10 minutes before even getting started with our order. Even the two ladies were bickering with each other in front of the register which was very unprofessional. Very surprising and disappointing for a CAVA. This location really needs to get their act together.
I waited for ten minutes while the staff helped other people. They have a different way of doing cafeteria-style ordering so you have to count on staff to help you.It took five more minutes to determine that their chicken offerings were all dark meat, not breast meat. So I wasted fifteen minutes before leaving without ordering.Their staff and signage leaves much to be desired. The print on the posted menus is small and I did not see any loose menus for patrons to look at. I was very disappointed.
Unclear menuThey add extras for whatever they put without telling you, rude cashier and manager, we called them 3 times to clean the table where we wanted to eat and every person we ask ,they said we are coming but nobody showed until our fourth time asking. The workers look highly confused and unprofessional and need proper training. They accused us of having extra chicken when we never asked for extra, they just wanted to charge more as if the money is going to their pockets. First and last time visiting this so called restaurant. Stay clear from this place, the workers here are in la la land.
