We had a reservation and our table was ready. They began with water and bread service with olive oil and balsamic vinegar which was bad. We ordered the artichokes which were canned. That was the best thing we had. We ordered the Sergio pizza which had prosciutto and arugula. The prosciutto was so thick, I’ve never seen anything like it. Also the Parmesan they use is not freshly grated and had such a a sour flavor. I told our server about the prosciutto and his response was I’ll let them know… okay? So I took it off the pizza but even the dough was soggy and now so salty. It was inedible. We also got rigatoni carbonara. Not great. My parents had the bolognese which was good and a sausage pizza which was ok. The sauce, cheese and dough just didn’t taste great. I don’t know why there’s so much hype. Won’t be returning.

Best food I have had outside of Italy! The server was great and helpful. The place was very kid friendly.

The pizza was very good but the other items were just OK. The calamari and beet salad used fresh ingredients but tasted bland, and the tiramisu was too sweet, not memorable at all. The patio seating was not pleasant with tightly placed, wobbly tables. It was very busy but the service was good. We may give it another try with indoor seating since the pizza was delicious.

Food was of the highest quality and is always good here. The calamari is the best around town, but the main course dishes are even better. Definitely need a reservation as this place is popular.

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Everything we’ve had has been excellent. I’m so glad you can make a reservation now!

Excellent food across the board. Apps, Burrata and Tomatoes and the Grilled Artichoke Hearts, a perfect start. Sofia Pizza, Cacio e Pepe Pappardelle w sausage, and Eggplant Parm. all excellent. Couple glasses of fine Italian wine at a reasonable price topped it off. Waitress, Ana, was a great host. Food came out fast and hot! Despite sitting basically on the road on the 101, was not overly noisy at all. These guys always are on their game. Grazi!

Fabulous. About as close to Italy as you can find in San Diego.

Expect to feel rushed out. Definitely a mentality of “if you’re not eating/drinking, time to leave” not the best place to catch up with old friends.

The food was yummy and great service! Outdoor patio is very cute. Highly recommend this place.

I tried multiple times during our vacation to stop in for lunch or dinner to one of their several locations and it just never worked out... until almost the end. We came on Sunday mid-afternoon, maybe 4pm, that perfect hour. Very few patrons, seated right away in a large back room so no one had to hear our kids (I appreciate this strategy). The calamari was alright; ordered only because the kids inhale it. Had a difficult time making a selection off the specials menu, the options were amazing! But I finally chanced the carbonara ravioli with butter/sage sauce. Absolutely delicious! Sage can be daunting to kids but they both enjoyed their portion.Now. I am not a pizza person. Husband and boys can eat it all day but not me (Even then, I prefer a pizza bianche). But when I enjoy it, it's because it is made very well, with time and style. Buona Forchetta nails a perfect pizza. Regardless of topping, the crust was just right. It was not heavy or doughy, just right to carry a fresh sauce and quality toppings. We had a Margherita with sausage and pepperoni ~ the "cupping" kind~ and a Sergio. The former was good but the latter was just lovely. A special kind of pizza can carry a salad :)No room for dessert. Not even considered. To me, this is always the best sign of a good meal out.We usually stay in Carlsbad so we are thrilled they have a location in Encinitas. Looking forward to our next trip.
