For dinner, I’ve liked the food I have ordered here, which was pizza a couple of times and some apps. Drinks here are good too. I’ve tried it a twice for brunch though and personally I didn’t like the food either time, and did not like the beignets. The service is hit or miss.
In short, highly recommended. I'm from out of state, and it feels like I couldn't have chosen a better place to randomly stumble into. Simultaneously felt like a neighborhood bar back home and a new experience that I was hoping for on a vacation. The bartender was super cool, has some great recommendations for other places in the area. Totally going back if I can ever make it back down to the area.
Food: Tasty, Fresh, DeliciousLocation: Heart of Emeryville, decent parking in the back.Ambiance: Covered outdoor eating area, lots of space, comfortable.Price: Not cheap. $24 for a cheese burger and fries, no tomatoes or onions. $6 for an 8oz bottle of Diet Coke, 4% Surge Charge for "Covid" related things like sanitation and employees. A little too much. My family of 5 with tip was $175.
My first time and had a great experience. Excellent service the waiter on point. The food and drink orders came exact as requested. Everything was delicious.
Excellent food and service!!
Honor Bar is one of those unsuspecting haunts that, for those in the know, leads the east bay's cooking scene in the category of unpretentious comfort food. They serve bar food, but the execution of that bar food is unparalleled. The stand out for me is the fried chicken, followed closely by the humble brussel sprouts. I challenge anyone to name a better fried chicken spot in the east bay-- brown sugar kitchen included. Juicy + ridiculously crispy + lingering rosemary flavor. The dude abides.
TLDR: food is ok, service is great and huge outdoor seating areaWe ordered the beignets and small bucket of chicken. The beignets were not at all beignets, but really big balls of dough more akin to a doughnut. It was super heavy while beignets are much lighter. The chicken has a batter that’s a bit too thick, I was peeling off the batter as I was eating the chicken, though it maintained the juiciness inside. Somehow my favorite part of the food was the macaroni salad, it’s really good.
The food was unexpected. That is to say, I did not expect the level of high quality food..I ordered just the brussel sprouts and was more than happy with my selection..The others ordered the chicken and waffles, the meat balls and the pretzel..All highly recommended.
Had a wonderful dinner tonight.
Opened my bag at home and saw this almost thought this is a prank. This Mahi Mahi dish cost $19 dollars before tax. LOOK HOW SMALL IT IS.
