Hearty American food in rural Elk Grove / Sheldon! Friendly service, good portions, reasonable prices. You won't leave hungry. Recommended.
The Barn has great food, excellent portions at a great price. Tom &Tina (owners) are always there ready to greet customers and provide excellent food and service. Give em a try you won't be disappointed
I had the Sheldon Country. Its Biscuits and Gravy with 2 eggs and a link of Sausage. U could choose 2 slices of bacon instead of the link, if u want. Had a couple of Bloody Mary's that were good, but nothing to rave about. The BBQ on the other hand, is great. Plenty of Raves for that! Come sit inside or out on the porch. Either way, enjoy seeing friends from around town and catching up with the town talk. Good times...
So I'm from the Elk Grove area and I know that the area around The Barn is country but this place literally looks like an abandoned barn/shop from the outside. The food was good not great and the staff was very friendly and kept our coffee mugs full but spend a little money and time on the outside of the place, the name on the outside is barely legible, and it might attract someone outside of the Wilton community. I would go there again on my way through and I'm sure they survive on mostly local clients but maybe just a little attention on the outside would make a difference to some customers.
Got some waffles. They were very tart. Boyfriend got the Monte Cristo and said it tasted like fish. The waitress was nice but the food... maybe look at other options on the menu.
The owners of the barn cafe are horrible! All I wanted was to feed 15 people a nice meal. They thought it was okay to charge over 360 dollars for 36 pieces of chicken and sides. They took advantage of a customer and didn’t even blink twice. What a dirty way to do business. The Barn Cafe how do you sleep at night?
We have lunch most Sundays and the people are very pleasant, helpful, and friendly. A great place to eat and visit.
