I def do love teriyaki! I used to work at a sushi place back in the day and the food here hits that sentimental spot that makes me happy.Specifically the Cali rolls here are EXACTLY how I like: they're made with Kani salad with a little mayo before they're rolled up with avocado. Some places make Cali rolls with just the fake kani stick and that's not my jam.The gyoza here is perfect too. And I love their gyoza sauce. Even when I door dash from several zip codes away, they still arrive crunchy! The amount of filling in them is perfect.Hubby tried the spicy Thai chicken last time and he was really pleased with the amount of spiciness. Some places you can barely taste any spice, but this dish was an enjoyable level of spiciness without being torturous.I'm picky with my cuts of chicken and the pieces here are never weird.I will say their chicken can be in the dry side sometimes, but I actually prefer that. This is my go to fave teriyaki joint. ??
Their customer service is so poor here. I literally waited almost an hour for a plate of noodles ?♀️?♀️?♀️ how insane is that?! The people who ordered after me, still got their food first. And when I asked if my order was ready. The girl was like, "Oh, what kind of meat did u have in the noodle plate?" I told her beef. The girl said, "oh, the beef takes a longer time to cook, so they are still cooking it". Last time I checked, you can eat beef RAW. Also, no. Beef does not take long to cook. Even then, if I was to tell her whatever meat I had, the answer would still be the same, "It takes a longer time to cook". As I observed to see if the kitchen brought out any more food to the front, which they didnt. My plate was waiting on the counter the whole time in front of the girl that I jus got done talking with. ?♀️?♀️?♀️?♀️ People here only cares for the money. Very poor customer service. This has happened twice already!
They should be ashamed of themselves, I ordered a teriyaki plate and 1 there was no sauce on my chicken and 2 they only gave me a little cup and I mean little cup of sauce. When I asked for more they said it was .50 cents for more. Which normally ok no problem but if you seen the size you would agree not worth it, I should have just asked for my money back. Never again
This place is OK. Not very good customer service though. The food is good but they are EXTREMELY stingey and selfish with the sauce. They give you the smallest little tiniest cups halfway filled with sauce. When you go to ask for more sauce they give you the biggest attitude and will give you only one or two more tiny cups LOL. For the high cost and OK quality of the food, sauce should not be an issue. Dine-in is self-serve and not good atmosphere. But for take-out it’s good if you get ample sauce. Without the teriyaki sauce the food is pretty much tasteless IMO. If you get food with delivery service don’t expect sauce at all LOL. It’s all about the sauce right? Go to the midtown I love teriyaki. They have big bottles of sauce right there on the tables and they serve you with very friendly people and atmosphere. Better food quality as well!
I "loved" Teriyaki. If you eat here you better bring your own teriyaki sauce. Loved this place when I was an Elk Grove resident. Visited now that I work in EG. Highly disapointed that now you only get about a tablespoon of sauce and will be charged $.25 for each add'l tablespoon. I can get chicken & rice almost anywhere, it was the sauce that made it. I know times are tough but I won't be back. Sad ?
Food is good most of the time. Get there early because they will close or stop taking orders before close time. Customer service has been terrible for years.
The service is okay and the food could either be a hit or miss, but usually it's good. I love the taste of the chicken teriyaki, but the girls sometimes forget to give you more than one little cup to pour over your food. The noodles are great, pretty thick; and I wish there was another option besides white rice, but that's how it goes .. I've been here twice already.
Called in and asked for extra sauce.. tipped my Dasher $6 bucks on a $19 dollar meal. Got my order fast..... without any Sauce whatsoever! Not even the sauce it comes with... Nobody cares about the customer no more, as long as they get their $?
I went to try this place with my family yesterday and my mom had bought me some sushi from there and when i opened the box that the sushi was in, the sushi was basically floating in this white/ yellowish liquid which was VERY unappetizing. I ate a couple pieces of sushi and i was DONE! then at like 3 in the morning i woke up to go to the bathroom and started vomiting up the food non stop. Overall the experience was horrible And i dont recommended buying food here! This used to be a good original japanese place, now (no offense) but the new owners are definitely not japanese and they definitely dont know how to cook japanese food. If you want real japanese food, teriyaki time! Thats the right place and the food is delicious! 1/10 horrible, terrible experience. ?? im never ever going back to this place. ??
Decent, spicy and sweet chicken over rice.
