I switched from the infamous Denny's and saved myself from the bad attitudes and long waits. Norms is the place to be Great place, fast waiters. Don't be fooled by the big lines their was a full house and we got seated within 15 minutes. Their is AC for the hot weather and the iced coffee is a must try.
My husband and I have been eating at Norms our entire lives and we have had nothing to complain about until today when we went for lunch to the El Monte location. When we told the waiter we would be using coupons, given to us previously during our Mother's Day breakfast at the same location, he immediately responded with a negative attitude and said he would give us time to think about whether we wanted to use the coupons or not and that he would come back to take our order. He came back about 15 minutes later. We told him we understood the coupon policy and said we were fine, but his attitude just didn't change. He said he would get in trouble so when my husband said, "Don't worry we will settle the check with the manager." he got even more angry and went to get the manager himself. The manger came with a worse attitude and in a condescending manner told us the coupon rules. We understood the rules and we were going to order anyway, but the negative attitude of both staff members made the whole situation seem incredibly uncomfortable and so we just walked out.
I was there on Saturday April 31 with my friend we waited 4 minutes to be seated.our waitress was Erica she was on it took our order got our drinks and our soup and salads quick. She was very friendly and sweet.our dinner was a few minutes after and it was all really good cooked how I asked it it be .thank you Erica for being so good and fast hope you liked your tip Ted Sandoval ?
Excellent food, as always. Minor problem with my eggs being cooked "well done." Sent them back 4 times to get them the way I like with no yellow soft or runny. Finally, the cook scrambled them hard. That was perfect! I always enjoy going to Norms
This used to be my favorite Norms restaurant in El Monte. However, this time the quality of food went down drastically since my last visit a few months ago. The pancake was thin and the inside was half cook and soggy. The restaurant was also short of staff and service was extremely slow. The floor manager looked like he was half asleep and he was not attentive. There was a long wait to pay for the food.I will not be visiting this Norm again.
I ordered a lumber jack waffle plate through uber eats and someone really burned the hashbrown and thought it was okay to send like this. This is the second time this happened and it's a shame because the waffle is always amazing.
The place was pretty empty. We did get seated right away, but waitress took about 15 minutes to come take our order. The food was bland. I asked for my eggs well done, they came out mushy. I think the best part of the meal was my coffee. I don't think we'll be going again.
Clean,Friendly great atmosphere
Soon as my husband and I went through the door it was nice. A happy atmosphere, the whole dining experience was perfect. We will be back.
