Service went downhill here. Seems like the old waitresses are gone. We came down the other day and the old lady with yellow dyed hair attended us. Anyway somehow she heard our order wrong and brought out the wrong food., after we asked notified her nicely, and quietly to not make a scene about there being a mis understanding,, she has the audacity to start yelling at us and saying we ordered it that way blah blah. She was screaming at this point. Honestly 12 lousy dollars is not a big deal for me so I. Order to defuse her screaming I told her to just charge me extra but fix it. Still unhappy, she went ahead and gave us attitude and went into the kitchen. She never came back out until we were about to leave. I guess she got embarrassed or something

It is a classic American style restaurant, they serve breakfast and lunch.Prices are very affordable.
It's not the best place to have breakfast in El Monte but it's not the worst place. It's standard breakfast food to have on a weekend morning. Things that made it mediocre were the cold sausage links, undercooked potatoes, and store bought salsa for the huevos rancheros.
The menudo is so great! Best ever!!! The breakfast plates are wonderful too. We love the food here.
I recommend the menudo! They make fresh tortillas daily. The French toast breakfast is also a good choice. They close early and get busy so best to go early.
Retro mom and pops dine in breakfast. Food was good, portions were just right. The staff was nice.
