I usually avoid Mexican food because it’s what I call “mushy Mexican”. But damn. I haven’t had Mexican food this good in ages. Made fresh, served hot right off the grill. Plus the inside is quaint with tons of character. Prices are reasonable. The potato rolled tacos were delicious and they were made vegan as requested. I didn’t have to explain what vegan meant and I didn’t have to return my food because it was covered in cheese, sour cream with beef inside like I do at so many other Mexican restaurants. They have only a couple vegetarian options, and it’s up to you to get creative if you want something made vegan. I was pretty impressed with how clean everything was. If you find yourself in there take some time to check out the art being displayed. I was lovin those frames.
From this place I love the Tortas. I usually don't order tortas at most Mexican restaurants because I don't like the bread they use. At this place in particular the tortas are great because the bread is good. I always order to go but the place is nice and clean. There's plenty of parking as well.

Had hard shell tacos that were soft and greasy. Tostada also had a soggy and greasy shell. Will tell my friends to try something else.

My favorite chicken tortilla soup in SD, wish I knew how they make the broth , it’s my favorite part of the soup. I make the drive from Chula Vista to El Cajon just for it. Service is always good and fast. Been going there for about 2 years but the soup was extra delicious today so I decided to make a review. Everything else from there is good as well. Quality Mexican food in East county. Thanks haciendas
