First time stopping in and I was really happy with the service and food! When you walk in there's kiosks so you can customize your order exactly how you want it. Don't worry about ANY confusion because the wait staff are all super friendly and helpful. They walk through how to order, what's on the menu, and the daily specials. It can be a little pricey if you add on a lot of extras but you get your money's worth at FF&B! They have big portions, fresh ingredients and everything is made to order. The quality is A+! You can dine-in or sit in their outdoor seating area to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather, you can even take it to-go if you're on a lunch break. Their sodas are draft sodas but if that's not your flavor then maybe a milkshake or one of their Famous Freak Shakes that are sure to satisfy even the sweetest tooth! ? We will DEFINITELY be going back again and I recommend FF&B to anyone with an appetite because you can't go wrong with their food.
Updated: This is the burger and fry place, so don't expect (m)any vegan options. Even still, I don't remember the food being that great. (Picture carried over from my old review) Felt overpriced.
It's impressive how Funky Fries can get with so many choices to make fries a meal. If there is a combination that exists, it is likely here. I only ordered the jalapeno poppers and small cajun fries. Although stingy on the small fries, the seasoning was on point. I would recommend whatever fries deal you purchase ask for the cajun seasoning. As far as the jalapeno poppers, these were plump and filling. Perhaps wrap some bacon to amplify the flavor. This was my first time at any Funky Fries joint. I entered and was not greeted by the woman at the counter. When I asked a question, she appeared to be inconvenienced. On the upside, each customer that entered after me received prompt service and questions answered with a cheerful smile. I wanted to try a delectable shake but I wouldn't finish it because it's so large. In general, it's a cool establishment with draft beer, televisions, outdoor seating and indoor dining, and unique fries combinations with ample topping choices.
I got the OG burger with everything on it and Cajon fries. The burger was medium rare like I ordered. The fries were crispy, hot, and well seasoned. The service is fast and there is plenty of seating. Parking is tight. There is stool seating at the bar; there is beer. A+
i don’t really write reviews, but like i found a bread clip in my food..not even a full one, it looks like the other side was melted off, so like..did i eat it? ? idk..i’ve been here before and the food has been good, but like?? bread clip??? in my fries ??? (i got the pulled pork fries)
the food here is always delicious, fresh, and very filling ! when i eat here i know i’m going to get good quality and taste, also if you love milkshakes this is the place for you ?
Burgers were pretty funky alright. I wouldn't recommend this place. Unless you like dry old patties. If this is the best burger in San Diego, then San Diego has a big problem.
ALLLLLL kinds of yeah. I got the Louisiana ? sando and it's the best of the spicy chicken sandwiches I've had. No heavy breading, no unnecessary condiments. Just slaw, chicken, pickles on a brioche bun. *Knock knock* Do you have a moment to talk about their jalapeno poppers? Cos they're FIRE. Get some, don't share.
10/10 amazing food, would recommend eating here. Delicious oreo milkshake
Ever since I found about Funky Fries and Burger I come back! The burgers, fries and milkshakes are all worth it! I usually change my order, but I do have to end up sharing since the portion size is a bit big.I recommend all their milkshakes especially since they use real cereal for the cinnamon toast crunch milkshakes!
