it is definitely not not subway. this place is amazing. big portions great service. 5 stars
I've only tried the double-decker BLT and it's decent, but they're really stingy with the bacon. There was more lettuce than bacon. When I ordered today I even asked for DOUBLE bacon, and there was still hardly any bacon. This is ridiculous to me, especially since I was charged for double bacon. The girl who took my order over the phone and helped me when I picked up my order wasn't very friendly at all and did not look like she wanted to be there. At least what bacon there was, wasn't overly crispy and tasted good. The potato salad is good, and so is the squaw bread. If they were friendlier and weren't so stingy with the bacon, I'd probably give them 5 stars. But if I order a double-decker BLT and it's mostly bread and lettuce, there's a problem.
I've been going to this little hole in the wall for many years. They have consistently great sandwiches. My favorite is and always has been the Pastrami & Swiss! I get it without the lettuce and tomato and on rye bread. simply the best!!! My wife loves their breakfast sandwiches.
This place is always great, totally recommend. Sandwiches are awesome. Only thing I've ever had happen was earlier I was standing outside on the side of the building waiting for my sandwich and smoking (so I didn't bug anyone with my smoke) and the janitor came out and harassed me. He seemed a bit tweaked out but I guess he was doing his job. A+ establishment, either way.
Make sure to call in your order 30 minutes or more before you want it, this place is busy for a reason. Sandwiches are so good, the best in San Diego as far as I am concerned.
Every since I left New York I’ve been searching for the perfect sandwich. And I’m afraid that I’ve found one that even surpasses any that I had growing up. Honestly this is the best sub I’ve had in 30 years. The portion is massive and the bread is perfect. If you’re like me and searching for that perfect sandwich….this is it.
I have been going here since I was in High-school, I love love love this place! The food does take a bit of time to come out, but it is worth it! So delicious.
I can’t get enough of this place!!! The subs are huge!!!! Might say 4” but it’s 6” wide so it more than makes up for it. The 8” is my go to size and if I don’t want to eat dinner the 12” is what I get. 12” long 6” wide sandwich, so amazing! All ingredients are fresh as well as bread is made fresh. This is a must if your a sandwich lover. I keep telling myself I am going to venture out and try something new this time and always end up getting the same sandwich I have been getting for the last 20 years. The wait can be long at times but they are very polite and tell you up front how long the wait will be. Closed on Sunday Monday which seems to be when I want them the most but other than that, hands down the best sand which shop I have ever been to in all the US.

Absolutely love the food here, reminds me of New York sandwiches also breakfast sandwiches. You can’t find a bacon egg / cheese on roll compared to New York. This place completely meets your expectations as a customer. Friendly staff / clean environment/ great customer service. Not one item I have tried I can complain about. Cannolis taste like Italian bakery made / black white cookie can’t go wrong. Chicken parm sub is absolutely amazing / black pastrami with substation of bbq sauce amazing. Thank you to the owners I miss great quality east coast sandwiches
