I drive 25 miles each way to get the food here. We had one in Tustin but it closed years ago. I think they have the best chips and salsa around. I love the steak fajitas and there rice. I love the fresh tortillas. I wish this one was part of the rewards program from corporate but that’s ok. I get emails every week that they honor for like buy one get one and other deals which makes it worth the drive.
Not pleased with this restaurant. We have dined here several times, but this visit was a big and expensive disappointment. My wife and I ordered what was the Monday special - half price fajitas. What the dish really was was a quarter of the amount of food, but at an premium price. First clue, no prices for this "special" were listed on the menu. My steak fajitas (small amount of unfavorable meat and very few vegetables) ended up being 13 bucks; while my wife's chicken fajitas (same issue - small quantity of food, no flavor) was 9 bucks. By far, the worst quality of food and the smallest portions I can recall at any restaurant. The drinks - $8 for a 10 oz beer. $12 for a 4 oz margarita. A lunch bill, ordering specials and Happy Hour menu items - over $60 for 3 people. Get this, my mother in-law only ordered a quesadilla and a soft drink. We enjoyed On The Border in the past, but won't be returning.
5.2.22 update. Under new management. Servers are young but are very nice and go out of their way to help. Food is served hot. Wait time was short, within 15 minutes. Much better place now. Continues to be run better than before. A little slow in service, but like everywhere else it's under staffed...In need of cosmo: Instagram: kayleighmua01
Did not have a pleasant experience with the Victorville location when it was open but decided to try the Eastvale locale. What a pleasurable experience. Food was nice and hot and yummy. Mango Tango margarita was to die for. Staff friendly and professional
Good customer service is very rare these days! Often times the servers seem to not care if the customers are enjoying their time and the food. On the Border is a ray of hope. I was celebrating my birthday with my family and we all agreed that it was a great experience!! The food was awesome, service was excellent!! Thank you for making my birthday special!!
LOVE this place! Our server Jason was amazing! Food was phenomenal. We came in the afternoon and had an overall great experience. The restaurant is clean and has wonderful staff. Definitely found my new favorite Mexican restaurant ?
The food here is not good at all. On top of that, they messed up our order. We got our food to go, but when we got home our steak burritos were actually ground beef. Their empanadas are usually good and they have a large selection of beer on tap. If I ever return again, that will be the only thing I'm there for.
Understaffed. I get it there's a work shortage. How have other places figured this out though? The food was pretty good. The other reason for the lower score, happy hour is only at the bar. The thing literally 10 feet from the table you're sitting at. No exceptions, you just get the higher prices because you didn't sit at the bar... Does this make any sense to anyone?
Initially service was decent. Then they let an extremely large party of children overrun the dining room. We had already ordered an appetizer and our meal. Then our waitress disappeared for more then 20 minutes. She only came back (empty handed) after we asked someone to get her. Between the yelling and boisterous kids (think Chuck E Cheese) and the fact we lost our waitress to their party, we saw the writing on the wall and cancelled our order and left. I understand being understaffed, but typically you don't bring in a party you can only serve while ignoring the guest that have already been there.
EXCELLENT as usual. I just wish they hadn't departed from the traditions that made the dining experience so much more pleasurable like guac assembly at the table. Everything else was perfect. Thanks On The Border
