This place has had a history of great food, staff, and service over the past few decades. The recent changes to the management at this location have left me in want of the great service this establishment prides itself on. The manager, in particular, comes across as rude, opinionated, and preferential in his treatment of clients; he even asked for our group to leave a 5 star review after his snarky commentary to our group. The previous managers at this location were the definition of great customer service, and will be sorely missed.
Ordered food online, was ready in 30 minutes. Much easier to order online than call. I called a couple of times, they did not answer but the answering machine directed me an option which sends the link to your mobile to order online. Great food, generous quantity and authentic. I am not sure I would eat inside as it doesn’t have a particularly good ambiance.
The people here are extremely homely. We noticed they offered tea/coffee/soda to people who came and had to wait a few mins for picking up their online order. The team here doesn’t expect a tip. They’re literally living the Indian value of treating their guests and customers like God! We would come here again
We had a great experience. Not sure on the basis of other reviews but we enjoyed our meal, had a great service experience, and were joyfully attended the entire night. All our meals cane promptly and were fresh, we got just the right amount of food and the taste was great. Definitely will be returning.
This is an authentic South Indian vegetarian restaurant. We are from southern india and this place meets all the expectations we had and the taste was spot-on. If you’re looking for a hearty vegetarian South Indian food, this is the place for you.The Vasantha Bhavan meal is just authentic to say the least. It is probably the best South Indian thali / meal available in the Bay Area. The people are humble and courteous and took all the time to greet us and took really good care of us by asking if we needed anything. This is indicative of good service.
Their food quality has improved immensely. Breakfast over the weekend is really good. We went there on a Saturday morning and the place was packed. They provided quick service -15 mins for a packed house. Aravind who takes care of front is a special reason. He was courteous , patiently answered questions to each table and took our order and suggested items. At the end they gave us beetroot halwa on the house due to 15 min delay at taking order and it was great. When folks showed up after 11.30 they still took breakfast order and served it out. Overall 5 stars and suggest a visit with family.
First time experience here .. they have done in but they serve in to go box so eat there, throw and go . They need happening inside the restaurant, you feel very low and place also need some renovations, cleaning and lighting. Food is ok. prices are kept high to overcome inflation but quantity is reduced as we see in every restaurant. No table order or service . Parking is also limited.
This was the first time I came here and I enjoyed my entire experience. From the start when Aravind greeted us to the end when we got our delicious coffee. The customer service was great, fast and the food was amazing. So much flavor and very authentic. I would suggest ordering the tiffin which has a combination of everything. The dosa and thali was great too. I am definitely coming back!
I ordered the special thali and was hugely disappointed! Not a single item had flavor worth mentioning. There was nothing to justify the 15$+ cost of the thali. I really hope they improve their quality as South Indian restaurants in this neck of the woods are very few. I have not tried other items on their menu
I had the worst experience with this restaurant, Sri Vasantha Bhavan. I ordered food for a special religious occasion for about 35 people and I got spoiled and foul smelling Avial and Curd/Yogurt. I did not get the Curry/Pooriyal I ordered and confirmed by the restaurant. The restaurant sent some other substitute curry on their own without even informing me, which was not good at all. All three items were of 3/4 size of a large party tray, and all the the spoiled food had to be dumped. Majority of priests, who performed the religious ritual like Tamil food and since this is a South Indian restaurant primarily serving Tamil food, I ordered from this place. It turned out priests and guests did not eat the food and it was so embarrassing for me. When I brought this to the attention of the Management, the response I got was that food was good. I'm sure no one likes spoiled and foul smelling food. It was just like a casual and careless response, I think. I don't recommend this restaurant and give a zero rating. Since I was forced to rate, I had to pick a star.
