-bird nest custard egg tart [B item]-shrimp and scallop dumplings with black truffles [L item]-grilled chive and shrimp dumplings [K item]i love love loveeee dim sum and this spot has some of my favorite items like these three. a staple that i always order at a dim sum spot would be chives and shrimp dumplings-- and here at @koipalace its a hit. for the other two items - ive never heard of them at other spots so i decided to try it and also really enjoyed the filling of the shrimp and scallop dumplings with black truffle as it wasnt too heavy and had some very flavorful seasoning. when it comes to egg tarts at dim sum spots it can be a hit or miss esp with the crust - but i wanted to try something different so i ordered the bird nest custard egg tart. one thing i appreciate about this item was how creamy the custard and crust was together. and the crust wasnt too thick or heavy - making it truly a bite size ????. if yall are in the area of a @koipalace - make sure to check out these items!!tips: to-go and dine in are both equally as bomb, at the dublin and milpitas locations theres hella parking available, and at the dublin location theres also a koi palace expresss which is also super bomb and have similar items on their menu but more so causal dining/hong kong streeet food/quick meal items ?
Best dim sum and service. Pricey and worth the cost. The mango puddings are the best. The shrimp rice noodles (ha cheng) here are the best I have ever tasted. The noodle is thin (a good thing) and filled with large, plump, fresh shrimp. The variety of dim sum is amazing. There are carts that go around the restaurant and you can order the items off the menu as well. Expect a long wait especially on the weekends. My family and I have eaten at Koi Palace for dinner several times and each experience was unbelievably great.
Poor experience .The waiter's attitude was terrible.Kenneth who likes a boss. It was difficult for us to order a glass of ice and tissue. His expression was very reluctant to serve. The restaurant charges service fee 18%, which is the worst service experience for me. I suggest you don't go. If you go there, you will disappear good mood day. Spent 180 dollars , but the experience process is like begging. We went to morning tea as we owed them money. If you want have delicious Chinese food, You can go fusion delight, H. L. Peninsula Restaurant and Grand harbor. Anyway, not here.
Very good Dim Sum and thin Chow Mein noodles, made to order. No carts rolling around, so no one interrupted us at the table, which made for a very pleasant dining experience. I will be back.Friendly, attentive staff. You just circle what you want on the glossy paper menu (full color pictures for many items), and they take care of the rest, bringing the dishes in a good sequence, not all once, so nothing got cold. I liked that a lot.
Friday Lunch is very busy. There were some items delivered very quickly, while other ordered items appeared when we were almost done eating. The staff did a very good job refilling hot water to our teapots.+ Interesting system for Dim Sum.1 Order - 2 get print out list - 3 delivery items get an ink mark on the itemized print out order list. I guess in the future, this place can digitize the system to better coordinate table service with the wait staff.
Overall, we really enjoyed our meal. Good service for non-fusion Asian restaurant. Black pepper lobster: 5/5. Sauce was delicious. Lobster a tad on the small side. Sticky rice and crab: 4/5. Came really late, so we were already full. But we had to try some while it was fresh, and took the leftovers home. This dish tasted 10 times better the next day. Guess the flavor had not soaked in yet. Egg white and dried scallop fried rice: 4.5/5. Very good. Nice wok flavor. Sauteed string beans with pork: 4/5. Solid. Would have preferred the beans cooked a tad longer. Good flavor though. Short rib with diakon: 4/5. The most tender short rib I've ever had. Dish was a tad on the bland side though. Five dishes (2 of them priced as "seasonal"), and an 18% service fee..came out to just under $280. Pretty weak that they automatically charged the 18%, when its not even the tip. I can imagine a lot of customers just assumed that was the tip.
Very very good authentic flavors.Very polite staff, especially for a dim sum restaurant.Tea service is very fast, plus the pot is kept warm on top a candle.Highly recommended, we'll be back again!
We will not return, we experienced poor customer service and over charged. When we paid with 18% gratuity already included, the lady was extremely rude wanting extra tips, we are 2 adults with 2 children. Rather focusing on expedited my payment process, they were rushing more customers in not practicing COVID-19 social distances , we told them we are in a hurry! Watch out we were treated differently because we are not speaking Their llanguage when come portions size and services. We are ready to go and fried rice is not ready. We requested to cancel fried rice but they pressured us to waited longer man said “2 minutes”, rude lady said “1 minute “ but we waited 30 minutes.
Short: Don’t support restaurants which has automatic service fee of 18% i read restaurant owner can keep the service fee vs a tip (or) gratuity which is unethical for overpriced upscale restaurant. Shady practices to treat employee unfair. staff member said they won’t get share from service fee but rather as salary. Most items food was good. Few are not as best as the Daly city Koi palace. Staff are nice. definitely overpriced but it was expected from upscale restaurant. mandatory SERVICE FEE is 18% even for the lunch. Don’t support restaurants which has automatic service fee of 18% i read restaurant owner can keep the service fee vs a tip (or) gratuity which is unethical for overpriced upscale restaurant. Not going again until mandatory service fee is removed.
Use the shells of fresh live shrimp in the USA. Law requires an iodine bath before the shrimp is frozen. Imagine shrimp wontons in a broth of iodine?? The Chinese roast duck was not roasted enough. It still had globs of fat unlike what you find in Hong Kong. In general the food was all very bland. No love in the kitchen!
