Traditional Japanese restaurant in strip mall. Came here with my friend to catch up while home for the holidays, and it was a good choice to come here. We got the Kabuki sushi boat which came with a TON of food ($24 per person is very reasonable given the freshness and quantity). The waitresses also gave us advance notice that wait times for the food would be longer given that they were very busy, so we appreciated the open communication. I’m a sucker for small family owned restaurants, and apparently the owner and his son have been there for almost 30 years. The salmon sashimi was my favorite part of the meal. We picked the spicy tuna for one roll and the teriyaki for the baked salmon. Both were good. The tempura was also nicely done - crispy on the outside and there was a food variety of vegetables. The matcha ice cream was a bit too icey and the salad they served at the beginning was a bit too watery but the star of the show is the sushi boat, so why bother focusing on those small points. There’s a parking lot although during busy times, you may have to wait for someone to pull out and they do take credit cards. Bathrooms are in the back and they’re clean. Overall it’s good value for the quality of fish and friendly service.

I almost do not want to write this because we can go here and get seated right away for lunch. What I know is that I have tried many sushi restaurants in the valley and I rate this the best quality AND price. The sushi bar is where we go 99% of the time and the freshness is outstanding. Whatever we order, exotic or standard cuts, it is always terrific. Koshu-san and his family do not disappoint.
