Delicious food, lovely friendly service, great venue!
My husband love corn chowder and it did not disappoint! The crusted halibut was delicious. The duck was a little disappointing because the skin was tough and would have been better if the skin was crispy and served up, out of the tasty mushroom sauce. The profiteroles were divine! We dined indoors and I need to mention that the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. Perhaps adding a cushion would fix the problem.

We have eaten at the Mustard Seed for many years, but it has been awhile because of the pandemic. The new owners have made some nice changes. The menu is more comprehensive and somewhat better than previously. The desserts were really good. Our server was pleasant, and one young woman refilling our water glasses and hearing our conversation regarding the environment, pitched in a thought of her own which was intelligent and not at all intrusive. The outdoor patio has been refurbished and still is very pleasant.
We all ended up having the same tuna sandwich for lunch and we all likes it a lot . The patio area is great and the service was very good.
The Mustard Seed is always a delight and 'go to' when in Davis. The ambience, wait staff and food always pleases. Thank you for the care and profressionalism.

Sweet restaurant with ambiance, great food, and the nicest staff you could ever meet. Outdoor seating was perfect in the shade. All around wonderful experience.
