I haven't been to a Mac Donald's in years. This local restaurant was renovated recently. It has a kiosk for ordering your meal and a walk-up register for ordering if you are not familiar with the app/kiosk. I ordered the Egg Mcmuffin meal that included hash brown potatoes and a beverage. I chose coffee and I was sorry that I did because it was scalding hot---too hot to drink with my entree. If I go again, I'll get fruit juice instead. The fellow at the cash register was courteous and pleasant. The server was friendly and helpful. I dined in, but most ordered takeout.
Staff is friendly and line moves fast but food is always undercooked. Thank god not the meat but the muffins are usually toasted more than this location in Davis. By the time you eat it, the sandwich is soggy and soft. If you indulge in empty calories, and pay more for inflation, you’d like it done the same way other McDonald locations toast their muffins. It seems EVERYTHING is done in a hurry and they are more concerned about moving the line along rather than quality of food. Hash browns as well, soggy, soft and fall apart. No crisp in that bite like you’re used to. Hi was told though I can request “extra toast” for my sandwich. I’ll try that. Just hoping management does something about these soggy sandwiches! PS: staff member told me the roasting machine would burn all the time so they turned it down.
Food is okay. Not a fun place to pick up quick night snacks.Ordered via mobile, so I went inside to pick my food up. The staff told me the lobby is closed and go to drive thru. Went to drive thru, other staff told me to pick up the food inside. Went inside the lobby again, the staff forced me out, repeating what she said. Finally I got the food at drive thru, which missed few items. Somehow they never saw the mobile order & don’t know how to process mobile order.
I do not particularly care for McDonald's but I would eat here. It's in snooty Davis, so its gotta shoot par.Amazed that location was not an extension of the McPlant test-run.This location would've KILLED it. Right next to a nugget market and a bunch of super nice houses.Regional marketing missed out ENORMOUSLY on this demographic / zone. This area would've gobbled that stuff up.
I bought 1 medium french fries and 1 large sweet tea through the McDonald's App and used the Free Medium Fries with $1 purchase. I went to drive thru and gave my code. Then saw on the big screen my order and how much my charge is, it's $1.08. But when I got my receipt, it showed $4.72 charge, not $1.08. I told the guy crew about it and showed him my order details on my phone in the McDonald's App. He called his manager and the lady manager went into the window. I explained to her but all she told me is she can't do anything about it. I showed her my order details and asked her to cancel that transaction. She told me to cancel it on the App which I don't have any option to cancel it. I told her that it seems that you double charged me, I was billed $1.08 in the App and you charged me $4.72 on the receipt. She said I need to call the App Customer Service. She is not helpful at all. I went to the pick up window, then the lady crew didn't know my order and I overheard her saying "I didn't have a mobile order here" I told her, see there is something wrong with your system now. Then Christina (claims as Asst. Manager) went to the window. I showed her my order details in the App again. But she is not helpful too and kept on saying we can't do anything about it. The $1.08 and the $4.72 charges are now pending on my credit card. I will dispute the $4.72 charge once it went through. I also called the Mc Donalds customer service yesterday, she got all the info but she cannot give me any timeframe when I can get a callback. I posted this experience for others to be aware of this branch double charging and over charging customers, especially those who are making mobile order. Ask for receipts and check your receipts ALL THE TIME! If you experienced the same thing, please let me know so we can address this issue to their Corporate office. I also checked my App now under my order history. The food ordered is there but the amount is no longer showing. Which is also fishy. Something is really not right.
As far as McDonald's locations go, this one is excellent. The building is clean - even the bathroom - the food is prepared well, and the employees are efficient and friendly.

Ronald would be proud. Large order, flawless. Kids were happy. I didn't eat. This time. Chaperoning.
I went to the Davis California location and it took them 15 minutes to give me my basic order today. I counted 20 cars after me that went through the drive thru and got their order first. They asked me on 2 occasions “what was your order”? I offered to give them my receipt to verify and they wouldn’t take it. I went inside and got a refund. I got a sorry but it happens nonchalantly. Slow service which I can understand can happen sometimes but no accountability or customer service. Regards, a former customer.
