I've always loved Burgers and Brew and have often recommended this location to others. Perhaps not so much now. I brought my cousin here for dinner the other night. As always, it was quite busy, but this time; the food wasn't that good. They served the lamb burger lukewarm. The Sweet-Potato fries were also cold and the serving of fries was quite small. The batter on my fish {which was cold} was tasteless. One shouldn't have to squeeze lemon all over fish or drown it in tartar sauce to enjoy it. {though I love to do both.}The high point was the house salad, which was served fresh and cold. LOL! Overall; After all of my boasting about Burgers and Brew, the dinner was quite a let-down! I will give a shout-out to the friendly, efficient servers... & next-time; If the food is cold, we Will return it and request hot food and a full serving of fries.

We got the daily special of a pesto aioli burger with fries ($16.45) along with a BLT, chili fries, and beer on tap ($18). The burger was nicely seared, perfectly medium-rare, and juicy – all qualifications one would hope a burger meets. Pesto aioli added complexity to the flavor and went well with the fries. My friend enjoyed the beer. We all found staff to be friendly and accommodating of our order specifications. Note that all seating is semi-outdoors and covered, with some tables having access to a fan. I would recommend making a beeline for those tables on hot days, just like us. I hear conflicting accounts that Burgers and Brew is a must-try local find but also that it’s overrated. I would say that indeed, it may not stand out with its food, but we liked the open concept and homely atmosphere.

Great burgers here. The line may be longer and busier due to being a Saturday with the farmer’s market and Aggie Day going on, we got to place our order by 12 minutes. It only took about 10 minutes to receive our order.Burgers tasted great, root beer float was great, Sacrament beer was great too.Stop by and try a burger out here.

Came here with family on a Saturday night around 7 PM for dinner. They easily accommodated our big party. They were also super nice!Their burgers are simple and tasty. Does not feel super greasy, and it will get you full. The fries were all perfectly crispy. It's a step above fast food burgers for sure. Just handmade burgers with delicious ingredients. For my bacon and jalapeño burger, I was surprised that the jalapeños were really spicy (and not just sour). I washed it down with a pint of stout beer for $8.

Not as good as it once was. Its changed from more of a sit down restaurant to a quick service vibe where they bring out the food to you. This may be because of the labor shortage but with their prices I figured there would be more to the experience. Burgers were fine and that was about all I can say about them. The beef was unseasoned and I was relying on the condiments to give me any sense of flavor. The fries were so bland that I didn't think they were worth the calories. I ordered garlic fries which were a $1.25 extra and it just came out with crushed garlic smeared onto fries. The tables had wood stain peeling off of them and everything was sorta mixed matched. In previous years I got a great burger and garlic fries with herbs and garlic with awesome table service. Now I feel like the atmosphere doesn't even want patrons and are charging about $20 per person for something I can make at home.

As a person who knows his way around a hamburger, I can say with some degree of certainty that this is the best burger in Davis, and a must-try for anyone who desires a great burger. Everything I've ordered here has arrived perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and delicious. The burger patties are the perfect size--not too small but also not unhinge-your-jaw huge-- and they contain just the right amount of fat. Their French fries are also delicious. And as their name implies, there is a decent selection of beer here as well. The only reason why I cannot deliver a perfect score to this place is due to the ordering process and atmosphere. It's not immediately obvious where you should go or what you're supposed to do when you get here. You may ask yourself: "do I go inside to be seated?" The answer is no: you wait in line outside on the ramp. You place your order first, you're handed a stand with a number for your table, and then you seat yourself--a blessing and a curse because the seating inside is almost always full and you are now tasked with finding seats to accommodate your party. After your food arrives, they take your number and are never seen or heard from again. I have never successfully gotten a refill on anything here because I have never determined what I should be doing to get one. The building is a converted house (like many places in Davis), and something about the flow inside has always felt off. I always feel like I'm asking myself "where do I go?" or "where do I stand?" or "how do I do this?" This is probably due to pandemic-related changes, and some of this is definitely due to my own limits as a functioning human being; but these things should be clearer. These minor frustrations aside the food here is very good, and I would highly recommend eating. Just be sure to ask a lot of questions, so you know where you're going.

This place is always busy. It has a beer garden feel and the food has always been excellent with a good selection of beverages.Located in Davis, CA parking can be difficult.Enjoy a relaxed casual and very good "pub" meal if you're in town or passing through.

Often very busy and parking can be challenging the food is good quality. However, their curbside app. wasn't working and it was frustrating because I had the kids in car seats and the food never was made. I didn't want to drag them in and out so we ended up at Iin and out instead but the kids were starving and they would not make our order and bring ot out to the car. Super annoying.

Eating outside on the huge deck, music playing, it was easy for these mostly middle aged folks (4 of us) to feel like college kids (2 of us were). Interesting set up, possibly due to the pandemic- you look at the menus standing in line, then when a table is open go immediately to the counter to order and then to your table to wait for your food. They have a large selection of excellent ales, lagers (which made my wife happy because she is allergic to ale yeast but not lager yeast) and stouts. The weekend we were there was the weekend the once-a-year Pliny the Younger Ale was available (sold only in pints, not 20 oz, to avoid running out), and it was a good choice. 4 of us had burgers, and they were thick, juicy, and made with very good quality beef. My wife had a Philly Cheese Steak which tasted pretty authentic to this ex-New Yorker, and I had a very good basket of fish and chips. Our waitress was cheerful and chatty, and amazingly speedy. Prices were reasonable- it's a college hang-out, after all.

Just stopped by to grab something quick and easy. Good food, fun selections for the burgers. Loved the beer selection. Definitely want to try the place again and sample some of the things on the menu I didn't get to try this time.
