Pretty solid fish & chips (nice crusty batter and perfectly cooked) but I feel like prices are a little bit too inflated. Food took an extremely long time but that's to be expected on a weekend down at the Harbor. Excellent service though.
I made a order to go. And come back to pick it up. I had my service dog with me. Then this old lady who works there yelled at me that I could not go inside with my pet. I did explain to her I was just picking my order up and my pet is a service dog, she was super unfriendly yelling about the sign that is not allowed pet there and second her.. ‘it doesn’t matter if it is a service dog’. Well sorry rude lady by law it’s matter and I will never go back to this place again.
It's not a huge menu but it's always fresh and it's always delicious. Taco Tuesdays are a very good value. Try the grilled shrimp tacos for $5 each. We heard a table nearby complain about some limp & lukewarm fries, and their server got them fresh ones and fixed the mistake quickly. They have they have a special secret house sauce that is delicious. There is also fresh fish for sale to take home and cook.
Their patio was full, but the wait was short. These were by far the freshest, crispiest most delicious fish tacos we had in this area. The patio had lots of shade umbrellas & is pet friendly. We were sorry to hear this area is getting ready to be developed & Jon's Fish Market will have to move. Best of luck to them in their new location.
Great selection, great service, fresh fish! The pic of the fish dish is the sea bass that I purchased fresh at Jon’s and prepared at home. Pan Seared fresh sea bass topped with spring onion curls and micro greens. served in a roasted tomatillo broth sprinkled with charred corn and a side of sautéed petite colorful carrots. Paired with a glass of Chardonnay.
Incredible, friendly service today. Was so impressed. Nick helped me pick the perfect salmon and tuna for family poke night. It was AMAZING. Three of my four kids told me it was the best dinner they’ve had in their entire life. Fish was great. Service was great. We’ll definitely be back!
GREAT Cod Fish & Chips. Darn near no wind day, sunny day outside dining, and wonderful staff made a fantastic day.Try it, You'll like it.
My family and I have been coming here for over 20 years. They honestly serve the best smoked salmon I have ever had; it tastes like candy! The staff has always been extremely friendly as well throughout the years. A must visit for seafood when in the OC!
Good service Good fresh fish
This is the sort of place that really does not deserve a review of any kind. The fish and chips was tasteless. No seasoning at all it seems. Needed some warm water to warm up baby's milk.......asked server......we've only got hot or cold !!!!! No kidding, that is what you are dealing with there. The pigeons are scavanging beneath your feet and no gentle pushing or clapping will deter them. One flew over me and hit my head with its wings. The tables have not had a good clean since they were bought I suspect. The absolute worst was the clam chowder...avoid at all cost. A thick white glossy gooey gloop..........that looked more like, a failed chemistry experiment than a soup and tasted disgusting. My wife, tried to be nice about it, "maybe they added cheese by mistake" she said. Truly disgusting. Waiter decided to strike up a conversation with guests at next table and decided to prop himself up by holding on to the back of my chair ( flimsy wicker ) which of course shook every time he changed position or laughed. CLUELESS. Waited forever to find our waiter for the check, in the end handed my credit card to the other waiter and said...."Find him please......" you could tell that initially he was going to say no until he gauged my mood and quietly took it. Avoid at all cost..go hungry.....but avoid because if you go...you will still leave hungry.
