Had a great time
This is one of my go to date spots. The bar is reasonably well stocked with a few good items for most tastes. The food menu is apparently from a shared kitchen with Bourbon Steakhouse. There are tons of different seating options from bar stools to couches to fire pits to tables. The staff is friendly. The sunsets are epic. Just an all around great spot. Parking is valet only and they are currently open only on Friday and Saturday.
Came here for happy hour with some co-workers and it was a good time! Bartenders/waitresses were very chill and friendly. Food was pretty good too. We had fries and veggie potstickers. Ambiance is dark, lounge-esque, definitely nicer than a dive bar. Plus, you can choose songs on the jukebox from your phone. :)
Understanding that while not on the water it does offer an unbelievable setting and ambiance with a great ocean view for perfect sunsets. All with upgraded food and beverage and five star service.
Been at Monarch for 9 days and used 33N everyday!!! Lovely setting and they were amazing and set up the most fabulous Christmas Mrng for us around their stunning fireplace!!ðŸ‘ðŸ‘At night we have been looked after superbly well!! I came for dinner at Bourbon Steak buy wanted to watch the sunset over some cocktails first. The ambience was perfect with instrumental guitar, beautiful vistas of the Pacific, and comfortable seating with fire features at each seating area which can be truly appreciated in CA as the winter approaches. We had some drinks with great service and then happened upon the resort's evening salute to the sunset. Sky was captivating and performed the evening ritual - an homage to Richard Henry Dana, the namesake for Dana Point- in which he shared a brief history of the area, read a poem, and served everyone with complimentary California Cuvee sparkling wine. Sky was very hospitable and made our whole experience amazing.

when you are paying $600 plus for a room, and then $20 for a cocktail, you expect staff that has been trained how to manage a room and look for service cues. They are all nice, but they have no direction. No purpose. They are truly just waiting.
