I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it was mediocre at best. $15 for calamari rings that came out of a package. $20 for a 49er roll that was so over-wrought with competing flavors that I didn't know what I was eating. The saving grace was the Hamachi Toro Nigiri, but at $11.50, I've had much better for less elsewhere. I mention the high prices, but quite frankly, I'm very willing to pay a fair price, if not overpriced food, but quite frankly, this was not good. Waste of $50.
Tomo meant "Friend" in Japanese per Taylor (a Tomo employee). Well, it is not just a friendly place, but an awesome place to dine in or order food to go because the food are fresh and delicious. Also, Management (Joshue), Chefs (Michael and Angel) and Waitresses Taylor and Chloe have allowed me and customers alike to have a wonderful experience on being served with camaraderie and being treated as a family. Every Tomo employee is working with a "Team effort" kind of attitude and really providing great service, but the one that is doing and exceptional job is Taylor. Her customer service, her communications toward customers, her demeanor, and her professionalism are outstanding. I recommend Tomo highly to everybody in experiencing what Customer Service and Hospitality is all about. Well done and Keep up the great work.
I really loved the food, but out of the three times I’ve went, they always seem really understaffed, and we waited 15-20 minutes just to put in our orders. Really want to love this place, but service needs to improve.
The staff is always friendly but it can get busy on the weekends because they are right next to a movie theater.
Amazing vegetarian sushi. Great service, cozy interior. Very reasonably priced. Definitely coming back here after the next movie I watch in the theatres next door :)
Saturday evening dinner:1. Ordered Shrimp tempura and Oyakodon.2. Shrimp tempura and miso soup were very good. Oyakodon was okay(I’m not a Japanese cuisine person, so it might be good, but I’m not a fan of the dish). Oyakodon with little amounts of wasabi was very good. I tried wasabi for the first time, be careful with the consumption anount, make sure you don’t make direct contact while consumption(haha, thank me later?)3. We were a party of 4 and got in almost instantly, no wait time, service was quick and very good. May be little on the expensive side for me. Since I didn’t find fried rice, I’d consider it authentic Japanese restaurant.
My favorite sushi place in the whole Bay Area!Fast, delicious and affordable. The quality of the food and service is outstanding!Very, very good! Friendly staff too!
Love their rambada roll! Conveniently located next to the movies for an easy date nigh.
Not bad. The service was a little slow, but very polite and accommodating. Food was good as well.
Superb restaurant, offering an excellent choice of authentic tasty dishes, from sushi to teriyaki, and much more. All the staff were really pleasant and very accommodating, they did everything to make our meal with them a memorable one. The food came well presented, with decent sized portions with excellent value for money, and were a pleasing taste sensation to the palate, plus the cleanliness of the place was outstanding. My wife and I would recommend a visit to this restaurant, and like us won't be disappointed. We will definitely be going back many times....
