These reviews ... not sure where they come from but the food here did not taste at all like authentic PR food. We ordered 3 different plates, 2 of which came with beans. The steaks had 0 flavor and tasted like it was cooked with a fish near by. The porkchop tasted weird as well, so it wasn’t eaten. And the beef stew was just okay but tasted like there was pork in there (which I hate pork). So why are all the meats tasting like they have been contaminated by other meats?? Weird ...The beans was so runny with no flavor. The best way to describe it, is if you ever ate “El Pollo Loco” beans. Yea it tasted like that ... I’ll give the 2 stars cause the service was nice other than that. We all didn’t end up eating our entire foods which sucked but we didn’t want to argue about it so we sucked it up and left unfortunately. Maybe I came on a really bad day where the cook wasn’t there?? But still...

OMG so delicious!!! I use to have to go to my grandmothers home in NYC to get this kind of cooking. I been there serval dishes and I never disappointed. This is literally my favorite restaurant.

It's ok I'm Puerto Rican and my husband is Mexican. We both ordered a Rican dish and he had Mexican nachos. Both cultures are known for their amazing flavors and boldness. None of the dishes hit that wow factor at all. The arroz was dry and bland. The pernil lacked all flavor. My yucca con mojo was ok but it was probably due to the mojo sauce since it had garlic. I won't return here again

Being Mexican I can appreciate Latin flavors of seasoning in any great dish and Señor Big Ed absolutely putts a solid stamp of approval on it for me. The staff was very friendly and invited us on in to sit anywhere we like. The food, it was obviously fresh as it came out in timely fashion and straight off the kitchen stove hot and not hot and cold like from a microwave and out in 2 min. I'd like go back and try more of there othere plates, thank you Señor Big Ed!

Excellent food and tio top service.

First time here and I had a great experience and the my husband is chef is pretty damn good. The meat was juicy very good.. I'm definitely coming back

I’ve been coming here for a years now, and I don’t go as often anymore after my mom passed away. But when I go it’s always a nice experience. I could honestly say that the food here is More close to authenticity to Puerto Rican food back at the island. Of course it will never be the same as if you were eating in Puerto Rico, but I will tell you this hands down.... this place needs more attention than some other ones that have recently surfaced. I don’t mean to bash but for example Rumba Kitchen in LA ... sorry but that is not Puerto Rican food, it just doesn’t hit home ??‍♂️ If you’re curious about this place or if you want something more home cook style that will make you feel like Mami just finished cooking Carne Guisada con arroz blanco y habichuelas (beans) con platanitos Fritos o tostones, come check Senor Big Ed you’ll might even hear a Coqui singing when you taste their food or the roaring rain after it being sunny and feeling the sunny Caribbean kiss on your face. For being so far away from the island and being in CA where there’s hardly anything Boricua, Senor Big Ed is Boricua approved ??

I heard about this place from my brother law, who happens to be a chef. He told me that he was very pleased and that I should try it. Well, finally tried it today and tried two dishes: Morongo with pork platter and the Bistec enzabollado. Both were very good. I specially enjoyed the habichuelas and white rice. Nothing compares to mom's Puerto Rican home cooking but I am sure happy to have Señor Ed here out west. Boricuas!!!!!!

Dude...... Authentic Tacos, Burritos, and even Roast Beef seasoned Cooked and Prepared for a Puerto Rican family Style Dinner. I'm Hooked. The Friendly Staff and Awesome Wall Murals set the Tone for Fockya Vibes. Not to mention the Salsa and Soul JAMS they got playing in the background.

The food is delicious here, I totally recommend it. The employees are nice too. The rice is great, as well as everything else I had. The menu is large, I'll have to go back and try some more!
