The basil popcorn chicken was amazing! It was warm and crispy and a good deal. Be sure to try dipping it in the spicy hot mushroom sauce (it not too hot).
THE BEST Taiwanese food in San Jose, PERIOD!There is no debating this. The flavors are pinpoint accurate and authenticThe quality and presentation on point. The atmosphere is pleasantSimple, efficient ordering and dining experienceGood customer service - very friendly. All around simply amazing.(I'm a taiwanese foodie and very picky about my own home cuisine)
I ordered Taiwanese fried chicken bento for lunch. This restaurant is so popular for not only the Asian people but also the Americans! I think the prices are okay because you will have three sides for a meal, and the entree is big serve! The dining area is so clean and bright! I will visit here again in the near future.
Good portions of meat in their bento and tastes good. I usually get their basil popcorn chicken but I also like their gpie, pork, and squid. Everything is pretty good. For sides I like the tempura, oyster mushrooms, taro balls, taiwanese sausage, etc. All their food is pretty tasty.
I ordered fried chicken and Fried Taiwanese sausage. They said it would be 15min. I waited and got FROZEN sausages in a box. When I asked about why the sausages were frozen they said they didn’t know I wanted them cooked…Then told me it would be another 10-15min to cook them. I asked for a refund and they said they couldn’t refund me until the next day if I was only refunding one of my 2 items.I returned both items ordered and only got a refund after demanding one. This place is overpriced and the overrated.Don’t waste your time or money.
Tasty Taiwanese cuisine. Bento boxes are huge! This place just opened and we plan to come and try out other dishes. A surprising place for boba tea ? Taro tea is only served cold, flavors are good.
For $15, you get easily 2 meals' worth of delicious food. I recommend the 3 cup king oyster mushrooms (comes with rice, cucumbers, and some fried tofu) as well as R2, the fried chicken bento (comes with rice, lurou, cucumbers, and some egg with corn and baby shrimp). Snacks are tasty as well—they have Taiwanese sausage grilled and served with raw garlic as well as the special and somewhat-hard-to-find pig's blood sticky rice cake.Lovely place, great Taiwanese and Chinese pop playlist overhead, and friendly service.
Squid bento meal isn’t bad at all, nowadays everything seems going up unstoppable. The price is perfect, a lots of squids and yummy! Tea egg is okay. The chick cashier is cute too,jk?.
We tried to come to this place a few times and each time, flavors have been pretty inconsistent. The first time, We only ordered drinks and milk tea and sea salt drink were very bland. Second time we got a couple bentos and the rice was hard. This is our 3rd time coming (this place is close by and we really wanted to like this place as it is convenient). We got grilled pork bento and grilled chicken bento. Side dishes are pretty good, although the tea egg is very rubbery with little taste. Our pork and chicken were surprisingly crunchy for grilled dishes (we didn't mind this! Texture was actually good), but they were not savory rather they were sweet! So if you like sweet meat dishes, this might be a good taiwanese bento place to try.If you prefer savory bento and would like to venture out, you should try Ajito Japanese bento place nearby. They're a little more expensive, but they have really good bentos!
Not commenting on the tea, since we didn't order any.Ordered the fried pork. Flavor was pretty decent, and the amount of pork relative to the size of the box was reasonable, though the price of $15 for this bento was a bit steep for what it is. I did enjoy the crispiness if the pork as well.I did notice that the staff literally left a bucket of tea and another bucket of boba soaking in the public hallway. I don't know if that was intended to be sold, but if so....gross. really gross.Would I go again? Probably not. Tons of places to eat or get boba in the area. Would I recommend trying it? Sure!
