My favorite Japanese Market nearby. The sashimi and rice are mostly great.
Best place for sashimi/nigiri in south bay! Their toro/otoro tuna nigiri is a must have at this place. All their nigiri and sashimi are super fresh and tender. The store is a small semi-restaurant and store hybrid. You can pick up bentos/sushi/sashimi etc or order at a kiosk to get it freshly made. I recommend ordering at the kiosk to get it freshly made foe the best experience.
Food is of reasonable quality. But the menu is very misleading. I ordered a sashimi plate, which on the menu offers 6/7 fish varieties and is supposed to come with miso soup and rice. But what actually came only has 3 fish (12 pieces in total) and no miso soup or rice, yet I was charged the same price as listed on the menu.
This market is a hidden gem! They have so many Japanese bentos to go, and one of the rare places where to go sushi actually tastes good. They also have many different types of other ready-made bentos other than the typical “dons” (rice bowls), which made me compelled to try a few and spend more than I had intended ?. All very good! My sister had some with us later, and ended up going back the next day on her own.
Interesting experience, more expensive than I was expecting for a cafeteria style sushi place. Not as many fish choices as other places, but what they have tasted fresh. They are new, so they don't have their liquor license yet, so not beer. Friendly staff, which was helpful in understanding their ordering system (they have a terminal to order through, or you can order with your phone). Everything was packaged to go, even if you are eating in.
Converted to Japanese market with sushi counter. Made to order sushi and hot food served. Great hygiene and service. Contactless ordering and payment
They have 30% off for bento at the very last minute before they close the store. They are curently running low in stuff, so expect delay after ur order. I felt sorry for them when the angry customer cancel their order n yelled about their speed. They are just hard working ppl. I didnt expect they have japanese cosmetic for sales. Love it
Quaint neighborhood restaurant with a well-stocked Japanese grocery store attached.Although the store doesn't have a designer / corporate look like other chain groceries, quit a few items in the store were cheaper than other Japanese stores we visited (Mitsuwa, Daiso, Marukai) in the bay area, and the omusubi / onigiri was good! The food was also surprisingly fresh, and saw someone throwing away bags with perfectly good bento boxes - presumably because they make the food fresh each day.We will be frequenting this store more often.
Nice store/ restuarant. Good selection of fresh prepared food. Best were the hand rolls.
Came here twice in a week, they also have a Japanese market inside. Fresh sushi ?
